Another figure skater with plenty of pictures, but no picture of her actually skating. Can we get one? Brianjd (talk) 11:09, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

A quick internet search reveals plenty of photos of this skater skating. 14:21, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Illustration of harbour / wellship processEdit

Hello. I am looking for an illustration similar to the picture in page 4, here (PDF file). Is this a possibility for someone to make? I want to use it in the Norwegian article about wellships. Thanks! Vasmar1 | Marius Vassnes (talk) 06:58, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This coming COMICON Toronto; need photographs of Degrassi High guestsEdit

Hello! I edit a lot of pages related to the show Degrassi High. A few of the actors could do with better infobox images on their pages, and it happens that three of them are to appear at the upcoming COMICON in Toronto on March 19th; Pat Mastroianni, Stacie Mistysyn and Amanda Stepto. I've been looking for higher quality and updated images for these guys for months, so would somebody on this site who is already going with a camera be able to photograph these guys at the panel? ToQ100gou (talk) 07:49, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Women engaged in oil wrestling?Edit

Hello, it looks like (Turkish) oil wrestling is also practiced by women, and there are female competitions. To illustrate the fact it would be nice to get an image of female oil wrestlers in the typical outfit. Note: I am not talking about the erotically-inclined showfights showing women in bikinis, or nude women wrestling. I really mean women in the typical combat dresses (which resemble one-piece swimsuits). -Eptalon (talk) 19:45, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I would love to get a picture of the South Korean boy band BTS at the 94th Grammy Awards in 2022. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevon&Oniesa (talk • contribs) 17:28, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Puffball skirtEdit

wikt:puffball skirt (possibly synonymous with "bubble skirt"). There might be images of this already, but none have that label. 19:35, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bladed stance (martial arts)Edit

wikt:bladed stance. Could not find any image with that label. 20:50, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bemaraha woolly lemurEdit

Bemaraha woolly lemur. 20:58, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Acacia catenulataEdit

Acacia catenulata, vernacular name bendee. A tree commonly found in Queensland, Australia. 21:01, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's painful that iNaturalist has several licensed as CC BY-ND/NC but nothing libre. 08:52, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

chef's kissEdit

wikt:chef's kiss. File:Chef icon.svg is pretty good, and I'll default to using that in the absence of anything better. But an image where the fingers are closer to the lips would be ideal. That seems to be what you get when searching on Google or DuckDuckGo. Without that aspect, it's pretty much just the basic OK symbol. 00:41, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

wikt:brouilleur. Note that I'm referring to the English term for a bowl-like device related to absinthe, not the French word for "jammer" which brings up images like File:Jammersprocom-jammer-b97-2.jpg on Google. 00:58, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Citrumelo, wikt:citrumelo, X Citroncirus spp. Searching for "Citroncirus" does bring some illustrations up, but I think these are for citranges which are a distinct cross per Citrus taxonomy. 01:30, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

desktop mascotEdit

wikt:desktop mascot. Might be difficult to find something existing that's not copyrighted, since the phenomenon generally involves the use of anime characters. But maybe someone can make one of Wikipe-tan. Reminds me of BonziBuddy... 04:07, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Disney pointEdit

wikt:Disney point. Note that we have Category:Pointing and even Category:Palm pointing, and this is a similar gesture. I also looked through Category:Two-finger gestures. This photo has the right general finger placement, but better examples could be found/produced (and the description indicates that the intended context was quite, uh, different). 04:25, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

donkey stoolEdit

wikt:donkey stool, also known as a 'drawing bench' and various other terms. I think this is something like [1], not [2]. 04:39, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not ideal, but there's a 1975 patent for "artist's horse" which may be in the public domain per {{PD-US-patent}}, and this has an illustration: [3], [4]. The illustrations in these patents may be even better, but I don't know whether they're PD: [5], [6].
It's surprisingly hard to find a free photo of the object, even though there are lots of non-free ones. 19:47, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Aplatophis chauliodusEdit

Aplatophis chauliodus, vernacular name fangtooth snake-eel. 15:53, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Probably not ideal, but at least I uploaded a freely licensed image of its characteristic head. Felix QW (talk) 11:44, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

finish nailEdit

wikt:finish nail, also known as 'finishing nail'. A specific type of nail (fastener). Home Depot explains: [7]. 17:36, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Figure 161 here at least illustrates the concept, but I'd prefer a photo. 15:55, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

flooring nailerEdit

wikt:flooring nailer. Tool. This is a specific subcategory of Category:Nail guns that seems different from the photos currently listed, cf. Google Images. 21:06, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not ideal, but this 1966 patent has an illustration that seems to be the same tool: [8] (note the angle and how they describe it as "particularly adapted for use in the nailing of hardwood flooring"). 20:14, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

half-up half-downEdit

wikt:half-up half-down. Hairstyle. 23:27, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply] which one of these is good? i can upload the videos or screencaps.--RZuo (talk) 15:44, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

w:da:drømmekage, wikt:drømmekage. A specific kind of Danish cake. 02:55, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

wikt:gajol. A specific brand of Danish licorice. We have a photo of the packaging, but an image of the licorice itself is desired. 02:57, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

wikt:بركان#Etymology 2, wikt:barracan. A specific thick fabric popular in the Middle East. Originally, but not always nowadays, made of camel wool. 03:31, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Aquilaria malaccensis (agarwood) seedsEdit

wikt:قرنوة‎. 03:41, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Done, crop your favourite from File:Aquilaria malaccensis flowers, capsules and seed.png, or ping me to let me know if you need any help with cropping. Felix QW (talk) 13:53, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hlawga (Burmese boat)Edit

wikt:လှော်ကား. This may be a long shot, since I'm not even able to find non-free images, but I'm sure some representation of it exists somewhere. I'd like confirmation that the boat depicted is a hlawga, since there are various other kinds of ornamented ancient Burmese boats. 04:21, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

wikt:spænde ben. Based on the usage example at talking about how it is unsportsmanlike for athletes to do it, intentional tripping may be intended. I saw Category:Tripping but only one of the images really illustrates this action, namely this one, and that is kind of grainy and not of optimal quality (but if nothing better is found, I'd happily use it). I'm surprised there aren't more photos of people tripping as it is a rather basic verb (whether by accident, or by someone else's malice as in the Danish verb). 05:01, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You are right, they are somewhat hard to come by. Have you seen File:Football trip.jpg, which I have now categorised properly? Maybe that's more like what you're looking for? Felix QW (talk) 14:10, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

wikt:kinnikinnick. I believe sense 1 is requested. If you put "kinnikinnick herb" into Google Images you can see what it looks like. 22:43, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

LØREN,Alissic and Drop DeadEdit

Hi everyone. I'm currently working on an article about the South Korean musician LØREN on Wikipedia and I'd like to have some pics of him.

  • A pic from the Paris Fashion Week Show 2022
  • A pic from one of his songs (Empty Trash, Need or All My Friends Are Turning Blue - I would prefer one from All My Friends Are Turning Blue if it's possible)
  • Lastly, one pic of him while he is singing or playing guitar would be really useful.

Also, I'm writing an article about Brazilian musician Alissic. I do not have a specific image to request but any that is recent is OK. A specific one would be if there was a pic of her while she is singing. 3 I think are enough but as many as you can are welcome.

To conclude, for my future project, the logo of the brand Drop Dead and in one picture the symbols of the collections.

To be honest, I would do it on my own but I don't understand all the license things but if I did, I wouldn't have the time to do so. For any questions, you can ask me on my Talk Page on Wikipedia. Or, on my Commons Discussion, but I generally prefer Wikipedia's one because I log in there more often than Commons'. (if you upload something close to that, please inform me on my talk pages) Thank you in advance for everything. Fisforfenia (talk) 16:21, 17 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Jordan ClarkEdit

Hi! I need a photo of Jordan Clark. To differentiate her from the football player, she has big red hair 👩🏼‍🦰 Preferably a large(ish) headshot, something pretty and simple. Maybe two so I have options but I'm not all that picky. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CK121119 (talk • contribs) 22:50, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Putin with a Hitler moustacheEdit

Looking for a good quality image of Putin "sporting" a Hitler (toothbrush) moustache. The purpose is to illustrate how the toothbrush is used in society. Examples include: [9][10][11][12]. Power Rangers commandEdit

I'd like to request an image of the Power Rangers Command. In reality it a building "House of the Book" designed by architect w:Sidney Eisenshtat located at the Brandeis-Bardin Institute of the AJU Los Angeles, which has appeared in various film and television productions. I think an image of this location could potentially be used in several articles. I found a Creative Commons licensed image at Flickr that might be suitable: If this file is acceptable I think uploaded page name should be House of the Book, ie no "the" prefix[14]. If not perhaps there are students from AJU active in the project and they might be willing to provide an image? Thanks in advance. -- 02:17, 1 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • The flickr file you mentioned is not acceptable for commons upload because it is licensed Cc-by-nc-nd (non-commercial, no-derivatives.) GeorgHHtalk   20:00, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Tanner NovlanEdit

I would like to request an image to be uploaded of model and actor Tanner Novlan. I found that without an image of the actor, his main Wikipedia biography page as well as other articles are severely lacking and do not serve to inform the readers properly on what the content of those pages. An image of the actor would be added to many articles. I wonder if I could get some help in finding an image of the actor that adheres to Wikipedia licensing guidelines and copyright policies? The actor also recently attended the 61st Monte Carlo TV Festival, that occurred this past June, thus I was hoping that an image or a photographer who also attended the event may have uploaded a Creative Commons licensed image. If not from this event, any other image of the actor would be suitable. Thank you so much! — AwardShowFan123 (talk) 21:28, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I was wondering if I could get any follow-up on this? I would really appreciate any help I could get, or any advice or suggestions so I can get an image of the actor uploaded. Thank you! — AwardShowFan123 (talk) 13:12, 13 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Request for recent Céline Dion photoEdit

Hello. I would like to request for a photo of Canadian chanteuse en:Celine Dion for her main page, as the existing one is already outdated and does not represent how she looks today. Map of the insurgency in Peru (2001-present)Edit

Someone could make an svg map about the armed insurgency in the Vraem (central Peru), in the heart of Peru, in the style of the svg maps that exist about other conflicts in the style of the civil war in Syria, the war in Afghanistan or the South Sudan war using the NordNordWest program. Photos of Cochlear implant sound processorsEdit

Commons does not have photos of many models and brands of cochlear implant sound processors, and many of the photos that we do have on Commons are copyright violations and/or poor quality (ex, blurry, out of focus, low reslution). I would like to be able to have usable photos (ideally standalone photos of the external hardware on a blank background, like this example) of:

  • Cochlear Nucleus Freedom (we need a standalone photo of one)
  • Advanced Bionics Neptune (we have only a pic of one being worn during a marathon, but the device is barely visible)
  • Individual photos of pre-Harmony Advanced Bionics processors (such as Platinum, Clarion, Platinum BTE, CII BTE, etc)
  • MED-EL body-worn processors (such as Comfort CI System, COMBI 40, CIS PRO+)
  • MED-EL TEMPO+, OPUS 1 & 2, RONDO 1, Rondo 2, and SONNET 1

Browntop millet (Brachiaria ramosa, syn. Urochloa ramosa), againEdit

I previously made a request (Commons:File_requests/Archive/2022#Brachiaria_ramosa), which was helpfully answered by User:Pius and resulted in the uploading of File:Brachiaria ramosa from Ambanja, Madagascar.jpg. This is a good photo, but I think there are even more photos that could be uploaded for this species. On iNaturalist, there are several photos tagged with the CC BY license. Pius said that they were all under the unfree CC BY-NC/ND licenses, but that doesn't appear to be the case as far as I can see. Specifically, the photos under this observation by Sam Kieschnick and this observation by Douglas Goldman appear to be CC-BY-licensed, and some of them seem pretty illustrative. 18:04, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

5th century Artwork, Pawaya Gwalior Madhya Pradesh, IndiaEdit

Looking for this artwork. Every photo that I've found of this artwork is copyrighted. Especially need clear closeups of the veena-harp and the veena-lute. The artifact to photograph is housed at the Gujari Mahal, an archaeological museum in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. India.

Importance: this artwork has one of the clearest views of early Indian stringed instruments. The image is needed to help clarify India's contribution to music worldwide (through early development of lute and harp). On the English- language Wikipedia is needed for: Veena, Ancient vina, Arched harp (currently being written at w:User:Jacqke/bow harp, and History of lute-family instruments. Roman reliefs in the Budapest Museum of Fine ArtsEdit

The Budapest Museum of Fine Arts has three pieces of relief sculpture that come from an important Roman monument of the early empire celebrating the Battle of Actium. They were originally part of the collection of the first Duke of Alcala and the other surviving parts of the monument are in Spain (two pieces in Seville and several others in Cordoba). The three pieces in Budapest are this slab and these two smaller fragments. I wonder if there's contributor in Hungary who might be able to visit the museum and get photos of these pieces to upload to the commons. In addition to overall views, I'd like to request details of the small figures depicted on the tensa (the empty ritual chariot) in the larger relief. Short-track speed skating world cupsEdit

I would love for someone to cover the w:short-track speed skating world cup in Dresden (Germany) or Dordrecht (Netherlands) in February 2023.

I'm happy to help submit a grant request to Wikimedia to cover travel and housing costs (entrance at the event is usually free, but if not, happy to help with that too), and to sort through the photos before upload or during categorization.

I'm a terrible photographer and it's killing me that most pro skaters are either not illustrated on Wikipedia or illustrated with a blurry smartphone photo taken at an early 2010s competition. I'll go and take my own blurry smartphone photos from the early 2020s if needed, but if anyone has any talent, it would probably be much better Face-smile.svg Exilexi (talk) 11:58, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Place clearly allowing camping but has no infrastructure whatsoeverEdit

Ideal picture would be like - clearly no infrastructure at all, clear language-independent marker of designated camping site. I am fine if it is just cropping and site has actual infrastructure not visible on photo.

So far,_Wilsons_Promontory_National_Park_12.jpg was found where this marker is not well-visible (previous search attempt was on [16] and as of now better one was not found)

I would appreciate help if someone can take or find a better image (I tried searching on Flickr but failed to find anything like that)

Fives batEdit

Hey all,

I recently wrote a section on Bat Fives, an old English sport here, and I'd like a picture of the bat used. There are several online, but I cannot find one with free use rights. If anyone a) has access to the w:Radley School Archives (they have a couple there) and could take a picture, or could find a copyright-free picture of one, that'd be amazing.

Frzzl (talk) 01:13, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm sure she must have gone to at least one public event and subsequently gotten herself photographed by someone who'd have then distributed said photos under a compatible licence. I did find a couple of photos on Flickr with that site's CC 2.0 licence, but everything about them screamed 'Flickrwashing' even before I found out that the account containing the photos had been blacklisted for Flickrwashing, so that's an obvious no-go. - Dvaderv2 (talk) 13:39, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Time and Temperature Building (Portland, ME)Edit

We could use a photo of the Time and Temperature Building in Portland, Maine that actually shows the namesake sign. If anyone living nearby would be willing to take one it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Stockmausen (talk) 19:25, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Anyone got access to a library stocked with the Journal des Savants?Edit

Oldest scientific journal in the world by some measures. The July 1817 issue is actually the source for the name of the Bonin Islands and came with a map, which Google's digitization unhelpfully botched. Gallica's missing the issue on their end. The most likely format would be this bound version of the issues Jan. 1816 to Dec. 1817, the first after the hiatus in publication during the Napoleonic Wars, but it was unhelpfully printed without a series number, volume number, or updated colophon. The original issues were all printed at the Royal Printing Office in Paris (A Paris, de l'Imprimerie Royale) and the bound version presumably came out in 1817, 1818, or thereabouts. (Google's version dates it to the first issue included, which is obviously wrong but be copied in any library system.)

In any case, it would be great to get a high resolution version of that map for use here and elsewhere around the net. Literally, there are books that have been published on the Bonins/Ogasawaras that have mentioned the map and then apologized for the inability to find a decent digitized copy of it for inclusion. It'd be nice if someone could fix that and then mention it on the various Bonin/Ogasawara talk pages around the project so it could be worked into the #Name, #History, or #Gallery sections. — LlywelynII 08:27, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

New day and night photos of the Austin skylineEdit

Hi, everyone! I took an 8-day trip to Austin a couple of weeks ago and really liked the skyline, but I didn't get any really good photos of it with my iPhone 11, and my night pics were just blurs, so I deleted them from my phone. The city has a rapidly changing skyline, and there's a new skyscaper with one curved side toward the western part of Downtown that's very striking, especially when its roof is lit up blue (I think it was) at night, but Commons does not yet have a photo of it or of the skyline including it as a completed building. I believe it's w:Block 185, still described in en.wikipedia as "final completion is expected for Q2 2022." I really have two motives for hoping one or more of you excellent photographers takes on this project: (1) I'd like to replace the 2010 skyline photo on the Wikivoyage article, and (2) this is a city with a striking, unique skyline that deserves a Featured Picture set. Any takers? Austin is a great place to visit. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:50, 4 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of SpainEdit

Hello! I'd like to request to anyone living in Madrid or visiting the city, some pictures about the new headquarters of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Unión Europea y Cooperación). The HQ of the Ministry was recently moved to a building in the Plaza del Marqués de Salamanca and, although there is an image, it is old and with little visibility of the building. Thank you. Barbeya and PhysenaEdit

One image each (any species, any image) for the families Barbeyaceae and Physenaceae. Thanks in advance. Dank (talk) 19:18, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The only genera are Barbeya and Physena. Dank (talk) 21:38, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It is surprisingly difficult to get those images, and I couldn't find any public domain illustration or photograph of Physena. However, the original 1891 protologue of Barbeya included a lovely illustration plate, which I have cropped and added to the Wikipedia page you linked. Missing NC/SC County Courthouse picturesEdit

I am trying to get every NC/SC county page to have a picture of their county courthouse in the infobox. If there are any North or South Carolinians willing to help, below is a list of all the pages that currently need or lack a good quality photo of them.

Updated image needed

Please strikethrough any pages that get updated. Thanks for your help and have a good day! DiscoA340 (talk) 23:12, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Missing NC/SC County FlagsEdit

As well as county courthouses, I am trying to get every NC/SC county page to have a picture of their county flag in the infobox. Per Flags of the World, there are serval counties (and cities/towns) which have a flag but don't have an image that exits online. If there are any North or South Carolinians willing to help, below is a list of all the pages that currently need a photo of their flag.

Please strikethrough any pages that get updated. There might some entries missing from the list but additionally, there are also many poorer quality seal/flag images scattered across NC/SC pages. If anyone has the knowledge and time to vectorize some of these images, your help would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day! DiscoA340 (talk) 15:09, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

T40/M17 WhizBangEdit

I am currently in the process of re-writing the Wikipedia page for the T40/M17 Whizbang (example image inside), but there is only one image of it available on commons. I am wondering if anyone can find any images of it in the field and upload them, even just one image of it in the field would be much better than what I have now. I know the US archive has some images but I have no idea if I am even allowed to upload those, let alone where to find the original place those were uploaded. If you have any updates please let me know here. DynCoder (talk) 05:59, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Simple map(s) of Finnish Defence Forces Areas of Responsibility from early 1950sEdit

I'd appreciate a Commons-compatible version of the map of Figure 6 (page 37) of this PDF (also accessible via this link) for the draft currently at en:User:Ljleppan/Polttoainehankinta.

I'd also greatly appreciate Commons-version of the map(s) in Figure 5 (page 31) of the same PDF, but that's less of a priority. Ljleppan (talk) 13:59, 15 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
