Greetings!

Hiiiii just thought IU'd ask if my adding the {{cc-by-sa-2.1-es}.........} tag to those signatures is ok? Slash correct? Simplegoose (talk) 19:53, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

No, thats likely not OK. The source page doesnt state any CC license as ar I can see. There might be the possibility of {{PD-signature}}, but Spain is not listed in Commons:When to use the PD-signature tag, so they are likely copyrighted in Spain. regards. --JuTa 20:03, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi JuTa,

This file has been deleted allegedly because it's missing some information. The file has been provided by Filipe himself who asked me to update his page with this new photo that he owns. Thus, I don't understand why such action has been taken. Would kindly request to restore it.Thank you.

Best, Nuno

Hi, that main reason why it was deleted was that there was just no valid license template on the description page - compare Commons:Licensing and Commons:License tags. But more important: the copyright holder, which is normaly the photografer an not the model, has to documents his agreement to such a free license by sending an email to the commons support team, see Commons:OTRS. regards. --JuTa 06:45, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Good day

I've received a permission from CEDC company to publish some of deleted pictures - but I cannot upload previously deleted files. 90 days backtrack is great, but e-mails and permissions took a bit longer...

Could You help me with the situation? (the permission is in polish - so it may require redirecting...)

Sincerly --Navias (talk) 10:02, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi, please forward the mail to the commons support team as documented in Commons:OTRS. If you wish you could ask on Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard for your case. If everything checks out OK, they will undelete the image(s). regards. --JuTa 13:26, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Thank You.

Bjr,

Merci de ta compréhension, Cdlt --The Titou (talk) 18:02, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

can you please restore this. I don't contribute to Commons much to Commons and was unaware that I had failed to put the right tag on there. The source is File:Arte-Moreno.gif and it's PD-author. hbdragon88 (talk) 02:03, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

Logo Fréquence Protestante

Hello JuTa, I uploaded a logo belonging to the radio here, and I put it on their page. If you look at their official page there, you will see the same logo. From what I know, the authorization for logos is valid as long as it's only used on th page of the association. When I uploaded the file, I wrote "logo" and their address, so that everybody is informed that it can be used only on the radio page... So I don't understand what you are all about. Thank you for your answer, have a nice day, --Pierrette13 (talk) 09:01, 7 June 2015 (UTC).

Hi Pierrette13, the problem is that there is no valid license template on the description page - compare Commons:Licensing and Commons:Copyright tags. In this case its a rather "simple" designed logo, so {{PD-textlogo}} together with {{Trademarked}} would be IMHO the correct choice. Please try to fix the description page yourself. If you have problems please ask me again. regards. --JuTa 09:06, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
Hello hello again JuTa. Sorry but I don't understand what I am supposed to do... I'm a French native speaker and wikipedian and English are only second languages for me... Hello again, I tried to upload the logo on wikipedia France to fix the thing of license, but I was answered that it's already on Wikimedia... What could I do ?? Thank you --Pierrette13 (talk) 11:56, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi Pierrette13, I now did the edit for you - see here. Next time please try to do that yourself. thx. --JuTa 17:07, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Copyrighted image

Hi, JuTa. Thank you for your information concerning the copyright status of the vector image I uploaded. Would it be a good idea for this image to be deleted from Commons and instead uploaded to Wikipedia with a non-free tag? Aus0107 (talk) 13:32, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Deletion Requests on British Library Batch Upload

Dear JuTa I've had the chance to remove my simple Public Domain text and go through and add the Wikimedia Commons: Licensing templates to this collection now. Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction to the correct templates. I see there are a total of 25 of the images that are currently marked for deletion. Please can you review and update so they are not deleted? If issues remain that I've missed please notify me asap and allow me time to fix them before these are automatically deleted. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Media_without_a_license_as_of_7_June_2015 Best, Ndalyrose (talk) 15:57, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Picture of antwerp removed

6 pictures of antwerp were deleted for "no permission" Natuur12 dit nominate them and despite me telling him that I have the permission to published. This guy has a problem with his behaviour also on the dutch wikipedia that he doesn't provide help, doesn't talk , he bosses people about on his devine authority, he goes around wikipedia like a prison guard in the w:en:Stanford prison experiment, heś insulting people , talks in unintelligible jargon like WP:whatever, and generally is unhelpful. however ther is nothing the ducth wikipedia will do because the whole place has been taken over by his cronies or should I say clonies, making any discussion impossible by turning it into personal attacks, name calling and intimidation. On this occasion he refused to provide correct information on how this could be solved. Heś not solution minded, heś makes problems and causes a lot of bad feelings, and abuses his "authority" to shut people up. I will not take this behaviour from this guy - however much you may like him - on commons too.

I want a solution for my pictures without any involvement of this guy. and i want him banned from harassing me.--DerekvG (talk) 12:58, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

.Hi, those images were copied from other website(s). In this case the copyright holder has to document his agreement to publish these images under a free license of his choice by sending an email to the commons support team - see Commons:OTRS. Once you know that the email has been sent, you better put the template {{OTRS pending}} to the image description page. This will prevent deletio for as least some weeks, or until the case will be decided as vali or invalid by the support team. regards. --JuTa 18:08, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

Photos may be removed

I've seen your message on my talk page. I have a question -- what happens if the publisher hasn't put any license information?

Then the images are per default "all rights reserved" and have to be deleted on commons. regards. --JuTa 12:42, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
I have found copyright information, is it fine now? -- Zlatan Vasovic (talk) 14:11, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Hmm, thats a very weak license in this case. I doubt that the french school in Belgrad is a part of the Serbian goverment. You should expect a deletion request any time. --JuTa 20:04, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

File:Infotafel Schanzenköpfle.jpg and File:Infotafel Hirschburg.jpg

Hi, I removed the no licence from the above mentioned files, because all details are specified, assuming that it had been included erroneous by yourself. If I am mistaken, give a specific reason. In any case I would have prefered a discussion prior to including this. --Agricolax (talk) 09:35, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello,
I've saw all your deletions due to OTRS ppermissions. I've obtain the authorizations to upload these photos and ask to photographs to write a mail to the OTRs (i don't now if they had make that or no) and asked few times if i could, if necessary, make screnshots or transfer the mails with the requests to use the photos on Wikipedia and the answers of photographs, but i'd never obtained an answer. Could you please answer me?
Thank you in advance, good day. --Lev. Anthony (talk) 14:53, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Thank you for the answer. Could you please, next time, write a message on my user talk page to let me the time to re ask to photographs for OTRS statement. I've nt allof my photos in watchlist and i'd learnt for the threat to delete the photos while receiving a mail because another user had deleted some photos and let me a message on my talk page.
Thank you in advance. Good day.--Lev. Anthony (talk) 20:06, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

For deletion of the image that I have uploaded

hello, I'm MaximusM4.

We got in touch to have deleted a file that I uploaded[1]. However, these files that have been deleted is something you have made the procedure along the rules of OTRS. And even though I got a permit in the form of conformity from the copyright owner to COMMONS of rules, I can not understand why the conclusion that the removal was out. Consent can not go about it has been deleted. We ask for an explanation. In addition, there is prepared to submit a mail marked permission contents obtained from the copyright owner if there is a need again.--MaximusM4 (talk) 01:03, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi, OTRS was pending for these files since April without any reaction from OTRS stuff., which made them eligable for deletion. Please as on Commons:OTRS noticeboard for this case. If the release was valid, they will restore the files for you. regards. --JuTa 07:16, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

This file had an opened OTRS for the past 3 months!!! No wonder, no-one is doing any follow-ups around here or what? This file was uploaded as I was the author of the article and the published had given it's authorisation (thus, the OTRS that was pending!) --Ernest-Mtl (talk) 01:32, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

A conundrum

Greetings: Recently I noticed that many files have had this kind of history as here. This file was nominated as a copyvio, one user removed the tag, you replaced the tag. This pattern is happening with this user multiple times, as shown on their contributions. The matter came to a head today when this user ordered me to stop nominating files for deletion and I decided to take a look at their contributions. As I am now more than a little annoyed, I'm asking you to take a look at this and give an opinion. Thank you. Ellin Beltz (talk) 00:42, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I simply mark those images as {{Nld}}. If I have time and will I sometimes fix the missing license template by adding i.e. {{PD-textlogo}} or {{PD-old-auto}} or similar if I can easily be sure that those licenses are valid. regards. --JuTa 03:34, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of photos of Chantal Cahour

Hello JuTa. You have recently deleted two files I uploaded :   and  , which were both waiting for their OTRS permission. If you had asked, I would have told you the permission has been sent since april to Commons:OTRS/fr. It is not my fault if the French team did not do no anything about it since, as furthermore this is not the first time this happens as they are very slow (maybe too many demands and not enough people in the FRench OTRS team ?). I would appreciate if you could undelete these files until I try to get an answer from them. Regards, Culex (talk) 04:47, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi
For Ju: A french OTRS agent with who i talk said me to ask to the admin who had deleted the files for an eventual restoration, it's why i write them here.
For Krd: I don't make that to try to « jump the queue », but because i didn't know the OTRS wasn't confirmed (for me, all tickets were sent and i believed all was ok) and i'd suddenly received all the deletions messages due to mising OTRS's tickets, so i'd re asked to all the photographs and i can't know who had make the necessary.
Good evening.--Lev. Anthony (talk) 19:22, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

File:2phaseTPC b.jpg

You deleted this file due to lack of evidence of permission. There is now a file with the same name at de:Datei:2phaseTPC b.jpg which is listed as 'own work by the uploader'. Is it the same file, and is the copyright information on Commons consistent with the copyright information on Wikipedia? There was a request on enwiki (en:WP:FFU#2phaseTPC_b.jpg) to move the file to Commons, and I noticed this problem because Commonshelper returned an error message when it found that a file with the same name already had been deleted on Commons. --Stefan4 (talk) 10:12, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi, the old commons file was uploaded 2013 by User:Gaudiman and listed Rafael Mayani as the author. The de: file was uploaded just yesterday, but now claiming own work. I would doubt that this is realy the case. The 2 files looking identical. regards. --JuTa 18:25, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

File:St Josephs Home for the Elders.JPG

Hi JuTa,

The image you removed was given to me by the nuns who owns the Home for the Elders, specifically to upload to Wikimedia. It was uploaded from the Home for Elders in that country when I visited them. Now I am in the U.S. and do not have a copy of it. This image is a copy right free image and given with that intention. But I failed to put the correct licensing. Can you help me to recover the image so that I could put it again with correct free license information?

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely

File:Nomadi live2002.jpg

Hello. As for your "missing permission" warning, the file was uploaded at it.wiki with the same (self-author) licence and with following description: Concerto Roma 21 aprile 2002, presentazione del disco "Amore che prendi, amore che dai" Autore:Donquijote ie traslated: Concert Rome 21 April 2002, presentation of "Amore che prendi, amore che dai" Author:Donquijote, it was uploaded by the same user Donquijote, I moved the pic to Commons using Commonshelper, which further permission are you asking for?? Maybe I am missing something, but it seems to me an open and shut case. --Cavarrone (talk) 13:04, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi Cavarrone, I read Autore:Guido Turi on File:Nomadi live2002.jpg, which is not identical to Donquijote. To me it looks like the oiginal uploader is not the author of the image. regards. --JuTa 13:07, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
Uh, ok, I just read the description and not the original log. As long as the original uploader is missing from April 2007, I think you can delete this one, I have no chance to contact him to verify if Guido Turi = User:Donquijote (as probably was). Sorry, regards Cavarrone (talk) 13:13, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Hey JuTa! I saw my file (or rather the license) is just not valid yet. On the source site there is an info As far as the Library is aware, this item can be used freely without further permission.. Can you help me to choose and work in the right license? Best regards, --Icy2008 (talk) 20:21, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Vehicles convertibles vw eos 192x132.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Vehicles convertibles vw eos 192x132.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Regarding removed Photographs from Wikipedia articles Rubén González Cárdenas and César González Martínez...

Dear JuTa, good day to you!

Today, I checked a couple of wikipedia articles in which I was involved, specifically [Rubén González Cárdenas] and [César González Martínez].

It seems that most photographs were removed by you, under copyright releases lacking information. regarding that, all those photographs are in my family's private collection and we own the originals, so I'm not sure about the proper License release to be used in these cases.

I have read the OTRS templates and, while a bit complicated, I suppose I can manage. My question, however, regards the reuploading or undeleting of the files. Which is it? Do I have to re upload the files with the proper releases? Or are the files still in wikimedia commons, and can be restored? I don't want to be banned or anything for reuploading copyrighted material by mistake.

Thank you for your time and best regards

[joedelaselva]

Hi, please just send the mail(s) to the commons support team. Perhaps you note in the mail that the files are allready deleted. If your release will be decided as valid they will undelete the files for you. But please be patient there is normaly a backlog of weeks sometimes of months. regards. --JuTa 03:38, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. I think I will just reupload the files, this time with the proper copyright releases. Less work for the moderators and me. What do you think? [joedelaselva] June 30, 2015
Hi, the only proper copyright release in this case is the Commons:OTRS one. You may reupload them but without a mail to the OTRS the will likely be redeleted. regards. --JuTa 18:59, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks again for your reply. The OTRS email has been sent today, requesting undeletion of the files. I suppose I will be receiving any feedback directly to the email address I used to send the request, right? Thanks again for your help. [joedelaselva] July 10, 2015

Hi,

Why did you delete my file Commons:File:Limesaquaduct aerial October 2014.jpg

You gave me a notice, and I added the source with a page that says that you can use the file if you credit them, which is what we did. TheWombatGuru (talk) 11:16, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi, the problem was that there was just no license template on the description page of the file - compare Commons:Licensing and Commons:Copyright tags. I now seached for the image, but couldn't find it on https://beeldbank.rws.nl/ or some sub-pages of it. https://beeldbank.rws.nl/Miscellaneous/Copyright sounds like the {{Attribution}} template on Commons. If you have a deep souce link where the image is visible on a subpage of https://beeldbank.rws.nl/ feel free to reupload it best together with the template {{Licensereview}}. regards. --JuTa 16:44, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

OTRS Pending

JuTa, I was confused by this edit. It is my understanding that all files need a license template and {{OTRS Pending}} is not a substitute for a license. That is under assumption that one should not be uploading any files if it is unclear what license will author choose, because he might choose license not compatible with Commons. Commons:OTRS does not say anything about it, but if your understanding is different than may be we need to have wider community discussion about it and even clarify the policy. I personally am fine with either rule, but just want to make sure we all follow the same rules. Greetings --Jarekt (talk) 18:13, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi Jarekt, in general you are correct. But I guess there are regularly cases where the uploader doesn't realy knows which luicense the author wants, all he knows from the uploader is that he sent or wants to sent an email to the commons support team an perhaps doesn't react to future contact tries by the uploader. In many cases such images got their proper release and license through OTRS. (i.e here, here, here, here or here) But on the other hand those images would be easily undeleted in such cases. OK, I will not "revert" you in such cases anymore, but I will not mark OTRS pending images as no license myself. I will think about if I will delete such marked images myself after week or leave them for another admin. regards. --JuTa 19:06, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
JuTa, I began this discussion in order to ask broader community about what to do with such files. Please join. Regards. --Jarekt (talk) 14:28, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Harlan York photo

The owner of this photo has given permission to use it, and he has sent the permission to permissions-en, and permissions-commons@wikimedia.org.

Do we need to do anything else?

Well, Mr. York, as the depicted person, is unlikely the the fotografer and copyright holder of the image. But if ou know under which free license the copyright holder likes to publish it, put the corresponding license template onto the description page - see Commons:Licensing and Commons:Copyright tags. After that ou might replace the problem tag with {{OTRS pending}}. regards. --JuTa 20:09, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

File: Szabó Balázs Solymári Magazin

Dear JuTa! We have a discussion on huwiki about the notalility of Balázs Szabó musician, because the article has not too many sources – one of these is a TV interview, another is an interview in a printed magazine, and there are some more, less significant sources. In order to help the decision-making about Balázs’s notability, I decided to scan the printed interview mentioned above, considering that the author of the interview (and the chief editor of the mentioned magazine, the Solymári Magazin) was me myself. I know that this is not necesserily enough for the licensing of these two pages, but I don’t want to preserve these two scanned images for long, I just wanted to upload them on a temporary basis. I hope that you can wait for several days with the deletion, and this short period may be enough for the huwiki editors to read this interview, and to make a final decision about the notability or non-notability of the interviewee. I am confident that I can hope for your patience; thank you in advance. Sincerely: Solymári (talk) 19:30, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi, the files will become eligible for speedy deletion one week after I marked them as having no license which will be on the 15. regards. --JuTa 19:36, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, it's correct and acceptable, one week of patience must be absolutely enough.

Grund: No license since 24 June 2015

--12weev

Licence for Shaimuratik images

Hi JuTa,

Several days ago you asked me to provide licensing information for my recent uploads (see my page). I have contacted the author and obtained his permission (in Russian), which has been forwarded to permissions-ru at wikimedia.org email. Can you please confirm that I have provided sufficient information?

The files in question are:

Thanks, Myx.Ostankin.

Hi, I cannot read those mails, because I am not a member of the so called Commons:OTRS team. But what you should do:
  • add the license of the copyright holders choice to the file description page - see Commons:Licensing and Commons:Copyright tags. Otherwise the images will get deleted after about one week.
  • add the template {{OTRS pending}} to the description page. This will indicate that the mail(s) has been sent to the commons support team and will prevent deletion (if there is a license template) for some weeks or until the case will be decided as valid or invalid by OTRS stuff.
regards. --JuTa 07:35, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, I have done as you suggested - hope the right people will check that eventually. Myx.Ostankin 19:25, 10 July 2015 (UTC).

Deleted image on Chinese history

Hi JuTa, you deleted the following image: File:Chinese_plain_5c._BC-de.svg While I'm not the creator, I think it was a helpful image to illustrate chinese borders, and it was under a CC-BY-SA-3.0 - isn't that a valid license for WC?

The counterparts in other languages aren't deleted yet, and I have reason to believe that the english version File:Chinese_plain_5c._BC-en.svg is properly attributed to remain on Commons. I can imagine that the german version wasn't properly tagged (yet), so I volunteer to tag it like the english original once you please restore it. Thanks a lot. --Enyavar (talk) 19:21, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi, the image was uploaded with a {{OTRS pending}} on 4.5.15 and the fellt automaticly into "no permission since" on 3.7.15 which I cleaned up today. But you ae correct, according the source image(s) there is no need for an OTRS confirmation. I undeleted it. regards. --JuTa 19:43, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Deleted file

Dear JuTa. I have noticed your message, but could answer first now because of vacation. The photos that you have deleted are taken by a photographer who works at the National Archives of Norway. He has no own right to the photos, as they are shot as part of his paid work. The National Archives of Norway have a dedicated policy to open access and have therefore started to publish at Wikipedia. As I know there is a problem with copyright issues in Wikipedia, I wrote Commons in March to get a general OTRS for photos taken of documents in the posession of the National Archives, where I work. I received a preliminary answer in June, with some added suggestions that we did not find satisfactory, I have written back, but because of vacations here, the issue has not yet been settled. I expect it will be settled by the end of August. --Eli Fure (talk) 19:58, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi , every image on commons needs a free license - see Commons:Licensing. Images without should and will be deleted latest one week after upload. Your image was missing a license template and got therefor deleted after one week. Next time please add the license template of the copyright holders choice - see Commons:Copyright tags. You should also add the template ({{OTRS pending}} to those images (and not the text OTRS coming). regards. --JuTa 20:07, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

File:Princess Michael of Kent D.M.jpg

Hello JuTa:

I saw you deleted File:Princess Michael of Kent D.M.jpg (Princess Michael of Kent D.M.jpg) apparently on account of its incorrect categorization - is my understanding correct? Since the then provost of the Brompton Oratory released the image for public use (not least by way of advertising), may I apologize for not having stipulated a category & perhaps you would be willing to help me in this regard (so as to reinstate the image)?

Many thanks in advance M

Mabelina (talk) 00:51, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi Mabelina, this was not a matter of categorization but a matter of copyright law. The source page http://www.constantinianorder.org/printable/news/archive-2008/22-04-2008-london-the-requiem-mass-for-the.html clearly states (C) 2010 / 2011 - All rights reserved. On commons only images are allowed which can be reused by anybody in the world for any purpose - see Commons:Licensing. If you like you can ask the copyright holder if he is willing to publish the foto(s) under a free license of his choice. If he agrees he has to send an email to the commons support team confirming this - see Commons:OTRS. regards --JuTa 18:07, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

File:Spitz Author Photo.jpg (licensing issue)

pwilli1 (talk) 20:26, 19 July 2015 (UTC) Hello JuTa, thank you for your message. I have been trying my best to license the image properly. It was taken by Edward Acker and he has provided a written statement releasing the photograph for any purpose. I have therefore used this license: Public domain This work has been released into the public domain by its author, Edward Acker. This applies worldwide. In some countries this may not be legally possible; if so: Edward Acker grants anyone the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law. To indicate that anyone may use it for any purpose and it does not have any claim of copyright ownership by anyone. I also included an acknowledgement of Acker as the photographer of the image. Thank you and I am sorry for any inconvenience.

If you have a written statement by the copyright holder please forward it to the commons support team as documented at Commons:OTRS. Once you did this please replace the problem tag with {{subst:OP}}. This will prevent deletion for at least some weeks or until the case will be decided as valid or invalid. --JuTa 06:03, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
