En kommentar om PD-Art-licensen

PD-Art-licensskabelonen startede sit liv som en henvisning til Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corp.-retssagen. Corel havde solgt en cdrom med affotograferede, gamle malerier, hvor Bridgeman hævdede at have ophavsretten til fotografierne, men dommen var at fotografierne ikke levede op til det amerikanske værkshøjdekriterie, lettere forsimplet sagt fordi når objektet er fuldstændigt fladt, kan der ikke være nogen originalitet i hverken valg af indfaldsvinkel, belysning eller beskæring. At det princip ikke gælder f.eks. i de nordiske lande, hvor fotografier også beskyttes, når de ikke lever op til værkshøjdekriteriet, men at skabelonen bruges på commons alligevel, er forvirrende nok, men det jeg egentlig ville sige var, at når bare der er det mindste ved objektet, der kan kaste skygge (som f.eks. reliefvirkningen på en almindelig mønt), så kan man ikke henvise til princippet i Bridgeman v. Corel-sagen og dermed heller ikke bruge PD-Art-licensskabelonen. Det er også uddybet på Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag og Commons:Reuse of PD-Art photographs. Det vil sige, at en redigering som [1] er en fejl. Det fotografi, er helt afgjort beskyttet under både amerikansk og dansk lovgivning. Set nominations

There actually is a template for set nominations, but I think it's only available at the english Commons:Featured picture candidates page at the moment. I was asked to make it a little over a week ago, so it hasn't propogated yet.

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hej Villy Fink Isaksen, kunne du have lyst til at hjælpe med at lægge billederne af Danmarks kirker i deres rette kategorier? Jeg har foreløbig ryddet grundigt op i Category:Churches in Denmark ved bl.a. at flytte alle løse billeder i mappen – på nær et par stykker, jeg ikke kunne identificere – til deres respektive kirke-kategori. Der ligger dog stadig cirka 1.900 billeder i Category:Danske Kirker, Slotte, Herregaarde og Mindesmærker, som ville høre bedre hjemme i deres respektive kirke-kategori; så hvis du har lidt tid tilovers en gang imellem, kunne det være en stor hjælp, hvis du gad kigge i sidstnævnte mappe og omkategorisere måske 10-20 billeder, eller så mange du nu orker. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

• In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

Birds

In the "ARoS camera obscura correted.jpg" QI candidate image, I'm not trying to decide if it is a bird or a spot (I'm pretty sure it is a bird), I'm just saying that since it isn't a part of the subject, and distracts from the image, and is easily removed, it should be removed.
