Thanks for uploading File:VanBB.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Changing my copyrighted maps into low quality maps under the claim "update" edit

I have been notified that you are changing my maps which are copyrighted to my name, for no reason and turning them into low quality ones. And you use the claim "update" as a justification. Since there are no updates to the elections of 7 years ago, there is no reason for changing the quality map work of mine to MS Paint maps.

I have reverted your edits. This is a friendly warning for you to stop what you are trying to do. Being persistent on continuing this can get you a ban from Wikipedia. Furthermore, changing copyrighted work and degrade them for no reason, and without permission can get you legal troubles.

Have a nice evening. Berkaysnklf (talk), 00:26, 24 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Emreculha!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

See Help:HotCat, and Help:Cat-a-lot for some tools that can make easier categorization process.XXN, 12:35, 2 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Syrian Civil War map edit

Could you please make a correction to the Syrian civil war map? Currently the map is showing Al-Saba Biyar, the Zaza checkpoint, Rujm Mamur (south of Zaza) and the half a dozen locations to the north of Zaza (along the highway to Palmyra) as rebel-held. There have been no sources confirming the recapture of these areas by the rebels, while previously they were all confirmed to have been captured by the government. Furthermore, multiple sources have confirmed that the Damascus-Palmyra highway (which runs through Zaza) has been reopened by the government, the Wikipedia map contradicts this. So could you please mark these areas as government-held? Thanks in advance! :) EkoGraf (talk) 15:35, 3 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Its almost as it should be. You marked the area around Al-Saba Biyar as government-held now, but the Zaza checkpoint (which is the junction that leads to Damascus, Palmyra and the Iraqi border) is shown to be on the edge of government territory instead of inside it. The Rujm Mamur area (south of Zaza) is also still shown to be rebel-held (there's a marker for it on our map) and the four markers north of Zaza (left of the highway toward Palmyra) are also still shown to be rebel-held. You can use this map for comparison and clarification [1]. In any case, thank you for all your hard work and contribution! :) EkoGraf (talk) 23:51, 3 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Qubadlı edit

Hi! Regarding your last edit to the Karabakh map, I haven't seen Qubadlı been described as anything other than Vorotan (Քաշունիք) in Armenian [2]. The wikipage for Qubadlı had the Armenian name wrong and it said Hadrut instead of Vorotan in Armenian script, I've fixed it now. AntonSamuel (talk) 21:47, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Oh, actually I see now that it's a bit more confusing - seems like there are some further mistakes to the pages transliteration - "Vorotan" doesn't seem to be correct. AntonSamuel (talk) 21:50, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
All right - it seems that Քաշունիք - Kashunik is correct Armenian name for Qubadlı. AntonSamuel (talk) 21:56, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi AntonSamuel, in fact i had some problems when i looking for the name of Qubatli, when i looked the Russian page, written here as "Sanasar". Also in Turkish page written like this (Sanasar).English Page of Qubatlı, written Armenian name of Hadrut. First version in map i had a mistake for this :) But i think Kashunik is right. Thanks for your edits. It is also ridiculous that the map is nominated for deletion. It really annoys me. I've been struggling for days. Sometimes I tried to find the city names by adding the Armenian letters side by side.--Emreculha (talk) 22:39, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Emreculha: Yeah I get it, really good job though both in creating the map and improving upon it! It seems like there is a wide consensus to keep the file so I wouldn't worry about it. AntonSamuel (talk) 23:29, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your GFDL-only file mistakenly moved to Commons edit

I just found File:AntakyaSporSalonu.jpeg, which Satirdan kahraman copied from Turkish Wikipedia to Wikimedia Commons. Unfortunately, because the file is only licensed under GFDL, and it was first licensed after 2018, it's not allowed on Commons. See Commons:Licensing#GNU Free Documentation License (sadly not yet available in Turkish). If you are willing for this file to be used under another licence, you could edit the file description to add another licence. For instance, you could replace with . Alternatively, I can ask for the file to be removed from Commons, but someone might also want to ask for it to be undeleted on Turkish Wikipedia. --bjh21 (talk) 18:15, 20 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

About QarabaghWarMap(2020).svg edit

Hi Emre Culha!

I see your re-upload, so I'm want to talk about this.

You give me an link, about discussion around this theme. And there is some problems about LiveUAMap. A few days ago, Ukraine and Turkey signed a pact under which Ukraine will help Turkey in the military sphere. Back in the July tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ukraine showed its pro-Turkish orientation. I also saw a strange situation on the LiveUAMap site. There are very strange borders. For example, the Armenian side denied the information that Azerbaijan took Kovsakan and the entire Artsakh-Iranian border. Our side has officially stated that the Khudaferin reservoir was released. But there is no info. what the reservoir was released. And also (I don't know if you saw the video) there was proof that there were NO Azerbaijanis in Kovsakan. An absurdly photoshopped flag, what flies when there was no wind. And near the end of the video the flag usually stops (the gif stops). There was also a conversation with the deputy in Martakert, where he stated that Matagis and Talish were under the control of Artsakh and that everything was calm there (link - https://artsakhpress.am/arm/news/43272/). I hope you will leave the Twitter account of the king of Absheron, Ilham the First:)) & LiveUAMap. (Use another sources). - Tigran Ovanyan/💬 23:58, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Tigran Ovanyan,First of all, the topic of mapping has been talked about for about 10 days. You are the only Armenian user who has participated in this topic for about 10 days. Thank you for that.

We do not reach a final decision in the discussions. Co-decision updates should be from third party sources. As you wrote, we do not only update the map according to LiveUAMap and İlham Aliyev's tweets. However, you wish, the map should not be edited according to just a Facebook post and a media video on Youtube.

Also, anyone can contribute to the Map. You can specify your sources according to the decisions we make in our discussions and update the map. As the person who drew the map outside of the conflict, I suggest you comment on the correctness of Armenian city names. Please indicate your opinion on the talk page-- Emreculha (talk) 23:29, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Emre Culha, about the sentence with twitter & LiveUAMap, this was an joke, and I hope it did not offend you. Well I noticed this problem. Every day army of armenia & azerbaijan says something. And I see a hilarious change in the history on the map. Yes, unfortunately not a single tweet or video can become an ironclad proof, but I am alarmed by aggressive statements from azerbaijans about villages, cities and even regions. I even made something in between statements on a copy of the map (QarabaghWarMap(2020).jpg). Well, it is clear that only after the peace we (the cartographers) will be able to make normal maps, and civilians will return to their cities. So I'm waiting for peace in the region, otherwise chaos will not stop on this map. In the meantime, I hope that the map will have its own "peace" and updates will be fair, I hope that both the Armenian, Azeri and foreign opinions will be respected. Peace over your head! - Tigran Ovanyan/💬 23:58, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Vecnali recaptured edit

Yesterday according to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani forces also recaptured Vecnali ([3]) but liveuamap made a mistake that they didn't color in the map there. However, as it has been recaptured, could you update it the next time you edit the QarabaghWarMap(2020).svg file? Thanks. --98.183.199.182 19:04, 31 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

We have to add 3rd party sources for update (BBC, Reuters, AP News etc.) for neutrality. This is rule in Wikipedia. You can find more information about this on talks on map page--Emreculha (talk) 13:38, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for re-adding Chaylaggala area as under Azeri control. Though, you didn't add all parts. Could you use Official Russian peacekeeper map as reference and mark the areas under Azeri control correctly? CuriousGolden (talk) 20:22, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, could you please update the map to show that Çaylaqqala and Köhne Tağlar are under Azerbaijani control? Thank you. --Grandmaster 17:16, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Election Maps edit

Hi, dear Emreculha, thanks for your excellent work on the election maps of Turkey. User:Jelican9 (thank you as well for preparing the province categories) and myself have created a new category tree for your next election maps: Category:Election maps of Turkey. I filed the existing maps twofold in these categories, once per election cycle (2004, 2009, ...) and once per province (Adana, Adiyaman, ...), so that it will be easy for others to find and use your maps. I hope you find it useful as well. All the best, --Enyavar (talk) 10:03, 13 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and I also created a new Category:Locator maps (bold red and white scheme) for your country locator maps. Either the series was not completed, or I somehow missed uploads of yours? --Enyavar (talk) 10:06, 13 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sevgiler. Kurmanbek💬 12:22, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Emreculha (talk) 21:56, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
