Statue

File:America's Response Monument 2022.jpg: Normally you cannot take a picture of a sculpture and have it be your own work — see COM:FOP US. In this case, the sculptor seems to have released an image of it under CC-BY-SA (File:America's Response Monument-De Oppresso Liber.jpg) but I don't think that's enough to say the sculpture itself is freely licensed. Sorry for so many big red and yellow boxes; I don't mean to be annoying. But you really ought to look at the licenses and copyright status on the images you get from the Boston College Library. If they were not published in the US within 30 days, and were created 1976 or later, they are not public domain in the US. Please note the following chart shows that we must have publication information about each image in order to prove its public domain status.

I am not sure why the chart is labeled "Italy", it sums up US copyright law. Some of the deletions should be reevaluated. Up to 1989 you still needed to show a copyright symbol and register for a copyright. It looks like they were deleted because you used a CC license. "The original authors may retain copyright to the materials." This would be for images published after 1989. Generally images found in the wild have been "made public" when they leave the custody of the original photographer. See Category:Bain copyright notice for copyright symbol on an image, and even this was defective, because it did not contain the year. RAN (talk) 18:53, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
