Das ist aber tückisch: Die Datumsangabe in der Bildbeschreibung ist extrem ungenau und die Exif-Daten offensichtlich durch eine falsch eingestellte Kamera unbrauchbar. Die Angabe des Jahres muss reichen, das ist für die allermeisten Zwecke hinreichend genau. Was/wann/wie ich wo genau war, muss niemand wissen. Thema Forsthaus: Okay gut, du hast es also zumindest gelesen. Was meinst du mit "muss gleichermaßen umgesetzt werden"? Wo wäre was zu tun? Schau es mir gerne an und überlege, ob ich helfen kann. Da Du Deine Bilder ohnehin unter einem Nick, mithin also anonym veröffentlichst, kann das doch nicht das Problem sein. Möglichst exakte Angaben, wann Fotos entstanden sind, würde ich schon als nicht unerheblichen Beitrag zu genauem Arbeiten betrachten (gelingt mir aber auch nicht immer, da ich noch analog fotografiere). Categories:Natural plants by political division

Please - categories like the subcategories of Category:Juniperus communis by location are not helpful! They split images up into huge numbers of minuscule categories (with just 1 or 2 images in each) which makes them very tedious to find. Also, more importantly, plant species are natural entities which are not controlled by and do not adhere to human-devised political boundaries; they should be categorised by infraspecific taxa, and/or biogeographical regions, if removed from the straight species category at all. I'm afraid I don't agree with you. As far as I know there is no Wikimedia Commons regulation not to do so. I created these subcategories in the style of existing categories in the same manner (see Category:Trees in Germany for instance). So your objection came too late, I'm afraid! -- J.-H. Oh, vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Das war mir nicht bewusst gewesen. Ich war der Auffassung, dass derartige Tafeln, die sich dauerhaft an öffentlichen Plätzen befinden, in Irland analog zu Deutschland fotografiert und wiedergegeben werden können. Kirchen sind ja generell eher eine Grauzone, was den Status als „öffentlich zugänglich“ anbelangt. Ich habe mich zwar vorab bei der Aufsicht der St. Audoen's Church nochmals rückversichert, dass Fotografieren erlaubt ist, dabei allerdings nicht explizit darauf hingewiesen, dass ich die Bilder eventuell in Wikipedia-Projekten veröffentlichen möchte. Die entsprechenden Genehmigungen nun noch schriftlich einzuholen, dürfte sich wohl sehr umständlich gestalten, zumal mehrere mögliche Rechteinhaber involviert sein könnten. Um eventuellen Ärger zu vermeiden, schlage ich daher vor, die betreffenden Aufnahmen von mir (meiner Ansicht nach betrifft dies drei Bilder) zu löschen. Mein Herz hängt nicht daran. Die Aufnahmen tragen ja auch nichts dazu bei, das Gebäude selbst abzubilden, sondern sind bestenfalls eine ergänzende Erläuterung. Vom Lucky Stone könnte ich noch eine „bereinigte“ Fassung hochladen. Hallo J.-H. Janßen, Panoramafreiheit innerhalb öffentlich zugänglicher Gebäude ist in Irland kein Problem, insbesondere Kirchen sind ok. Aber alles, was zwei-dimensional ist, geht leider nicht, also etwa Gemälde oder Informationstafeln. Glasmalereien sind ok, sie gehören einer anderen Kategorie an (artistic craftmanship). Welches sind die Dateien, die Deiner Meinung dann noch problematisch sein könnten? Nebenbei: Wir haben uns letzten Herbst in Dublin offenbar nur um Tage verpasst. Hallo AFBorchert, in der Tat ein bemerkenswerter Zufall. Klar wäre eine Begegnung nett gewesen. Mit Interesse habe ich zudem gesehen, dass Du auch mit Canon-Kameras fotografierst. Ein Erfahrungsaustausch hierzu wäre sicherlich interessant, führt an dieser Stelle aber wohl zu weit. Ich selbst bin erst jüngst auch privat „offiziell“ auf die Digitalfotografie umgestiegen (die Aufnahmen in Dublin habe ich mit der Kamera eines guten Freundes gemacht) und habe mir die Canon EOS 6D zugelegt. Da muss ich mich erst noch richtig hineinarbeiten... Was die Nachbearbeitung von Bildern anbelangt, bin ich bislang allerdings nur sehr bescheiden ausgestattet. Doch zurück zum Bilderproblem:: Neben dem oben von Dir angemerkten Bild könnten noch die Fotos File:Dublin St Audoens Church Cornmarket Portlester Chapel 03.JPG und File:Dublin St Audoens Church Cornmarket Seal of St Anne 02.JPG problematisch sein. Allerdings habe ich auch an anderen Stellen in Dublin noch verschiedene Infotafeln abgelichtet, vor allem rund um Dublin Castle. Diese Aufnahmen wären dann wohl auch auf die Liste zu setzen!? Hallo J.-H. Janßen, erstmal herzlichen Glückwunsch zur Anschaffung einer Canon EOS 6D! Eine gute digitale Nachbearbeitungs-Software ist sicherlich recht hilfreich, weil das RAW-Format der Kamera wichtige Möglichkeiten bietet, die einem sonst verschlossen bleiben. Die mittelalterliche St. Audoen's Church, die wir beide fotografiert haben, ist ein typischer Fall, bei dem es gut ist, über den Weißabgleich nachzudenken, um den durch das Licht verursachten Gelbstich etwas abzumildern. Auch sonst ist gerade bei der Kirchenfotografie sehr hilfreich, wenn beispielsweise sehr dunkle Bereiche nicht unnötig schwarz werden, extrem helle etwas abgemildert werden, und die Perspektive korrigiert werden kann usw.

Zum anderen Punkt: Die drei genannten Bilder von Informationstafeln habe ich jetzt eben gelöscht. Wenn Du noch andere hast, bei denen die Informationstafel das Hauptwerk ist und der Text bzw. die Bilder darauf de:Schöpfungshöhe haben, dann kannst Du mir sie hier nennen und ich sehe sie mir an. Hallo AFBorchert, weitere möglicherweise „kritische Fälle“ sind meiner Ansicht nach vor allem in den Kategorien Category:Plaques in Dublin, Category:Signs in Dublin und Category:Art of Dublin zu finden. Vielleicht schaust Du sie einmal kritisch durch. Ich habe mir nun auch die Kriterien zur Panoramafreiheit im Vereinigten Königreich und in Irland nochmals auf Englisch durchgelesen (die von mir vor meinem Flug nach Irland kurz angesehene deutsche Übersetzung ist hier leider nur als mangelhaft zu bezeichnen). Grundsätzlich leuchtet mir die dort gemachte Unterscheidung zwar nicht ein, aber das tut ja nichts zur Sache! Wir müssen sie in der Tat schon einhalten. Dafür scheint ja ansonsten das Fotografieren in öffentlichen/öffentlich zugänglichen Innenräumen weitaus unproblematischer zu sein als etwa hier in Deutschland. Was Deine Anmerkungen zur Fotobearbeitung angeht, hast Du sicher recht. In meiner beruflichen Tätigkeit habe ich mich dabei bislang fast ausschließlich auf automatische Bildbearbeitungsprogramme (speziell für den Zeitungsdruck) oder unsere Mediengestalter verlassen (müssen). Was konkret Deine Hinweise zu den Bildern in der St. Audoen's Church anbelangt, muss ich sagen, dass ich den Gelbstich durchaus als ganz angenehm und realistisch empfinde (so wirkte der Kircheninnenraum auch auf mich). Aber das ist möglicherweise eine Geschmacksfrage. Mich selbst hat an den Aufnahmen doch viel mehr gestört, dass sie auf den ersten Blick scharf erscheinen, es tatsächlich aber nicht sind. Ob es nun daran lag, dass die benutzte EOS 550D hier dann doch an ihre Grenzen kam oder an meiner unruhigen Hand, vermag ich nicht zu beurteilen. Es war aber schlicht nicht praktikabel, bei unserer Tour durch Dublin zusätzlich noch ein Stativ mitzuschleppen. Wenn ich mit der 6D etwas sicherer bin, plane ich auch in den hiesigen Kirchen noch Innenaufnahmen — dann allerdings mit Stativ, nicht zuletzt, weil ich dann HDR-Aufnahmen anfertigen möchte. Kategorisierung

Hallo! Schön, dass du bei der Kategorisierung hier auf Commons hilfst! Beachte aber bitte, dass Seiten möglichst nicht in einer Kategorie und einer dazugehörigen Oberkategorie sein sollen. Zum Beispiel ist alles in der Kategorie "Male politicians of Germany" automatisch auch in der Kategorie "Men of Germany" und das wiederum ist auch alles in der Kategorie "Organisms". Hallo! Was für Datumskategorien verteilst du denn da? Grundsätzlich erscheint mir der Datumsbezug durchaus als sinnvoll, jedoch ist es eine Riesenfleißarbeit. Gibt es da nicht einen Bot, der das erledigt? Eine Verbindung zur "Maincat", wie ich sie für Dülmen und andere Orte des Kreises Coesfeld begonnen habe, erscheint in diesem Zusammenhang ebenso sinnig, oder? - -XRay ^talk 21:00, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Die Datumskategorien sind nicht meine Erfindung, ich habe sie aber quasi standardmäßig für meine Fotos übernommen und ergänze sie analog hier und da bei Gelegenheit. Hi - my personalised information template, User:Optimist on the run/Information, automatically categorises my images into the most appropriate date related categories, including Category:Photographs taken on yyyy-mm-dd, therefore there's no need to add it manually. If you check Category:Photographs taken on 2011-09-20 you'll see my image is in there, along with another image I took at the same time.  An optimist on the run! 18:17, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

I changed it because I am used to sort and categorise per date and place (city, village, hamlet etc.) and not per date and time of day. In my eyes this is not the common way to handle it. But I won't argue with you, so I ask you: Does there exist in Wikimedia Commons a guidance or command which sortkeys should be used for these categories? -- J.-H. • Vielen Dank für diese „goldige“ Auszeichnung! Natürlich bin ich auch im nächsten Jahr wieder dabei – allerdings geht auch abseits der eigentlichen Wettbewerbsphase ein beständiger Strom von weiteren Baudenkmal-Bildern von mir aus... In diesem Zusammenhang: Ganz so besinnlich geht es hier bei uns im Tecklenburger Land derzeit nicht zu. Grund: Irgendein Irrsinniger zerstört bzw. beschädigt seit Ende September reihenweise Wegekreuze, Bildstöcke und religiöse Statuen. Darunter sind natürlich auch diverse Baudenkmäler, die nun teils unwiederbringlich zerstört sind. Unlängst wurde der 30. Fall dieser Zerstörungsserie bekannt, der zwischenzeitlich eingeschaltete Staatsschutz hat offenbar noch keine heiße Spur und tappt im Dunkeln. Es ist wohl deshalb so schwierig, weil der Übeltäter stets feige mitten in der Nacht zuschlägt und dabei sehr häufig den Statuen, Reliefs etc. nur die Köpfe abschlägt (das erinnert sehr an die Bilderstürmer früherer Reformationszeiten). All das macht mich sehr traurig und auch wütend, zumal ich viele dieser Baudenkmäler erst in diesem Jahr fotografiert und mich somit intensiver damit beschäftigt habe. Es ist aber ein gutes Beispiel dafür, warum die Arbeit, Baudenkmäler für Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons auch fotografisch zu dokumentieren, gesamtgesellschaftlich von so großer Wichtigkeit ist. Leider befinden sich unter den nun zerstörten Baudenkmälern auch solche, die ich bislang noch nicht dokumentiert hatte. Ich habe mir aber die Freiheit genommen, durchaus auch mit einigen Aufnahmen im Herbst beschädigter Baudenkmäler am Fotowettbewerb teilzunehmen. Datumskategorien

Hallo! Wir hatten uns ja schon mal kurz wg. der Datumskategorien unterhalten. Mir war das manuell zu aufwändig, daher ich mir ein kleines Programm geschrieben, welches diese Aufgabe erledigt. Wenn du mal schauen magst, für Dülmen habe ich es bereits laufen lassen. Dort war kein Bild einem Jahr zugeordnet.--XRay ^talk 17:24, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Hallo! Das kann man natürlich so machen. Was die Aufbereitung der Datumskategorien anbelangt, gibt es bei Commons ja die unterschiedlichsten Philosophien und Herangehensweisen. Ich habe mir im Lauf der Zeit eine möglicherweise überexakte Sortierung angeeignet, also z.B.
Category:2013 in Ibbenbüren|20130527 Ibbenburen-Bockraden
Category:May 2013 in Germany|20130527 Ibbenburen-Bockraden
Category:Photographs taken on 2013-05-27|Ibbenburen-Bockraden

Mein Bot reift heran. Er hat mittlerweile die Bilder in Coesfeld und Dülmen kategorisiert. Das geht deutlich schneller, allerdings fehlt dem Automaten der kritische Blick des Nutzers. Die anderen Städte im Münsterland werde ich so nach und nach auch kategorisieren. Manuell finde ich es doch zu mühsam.--XRay ^talk 10:38, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

• In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

Sortierung der Kategorien bei Baudenkmälern Werl

Hallo J.-H. Janßen,

ich habe gesehen, dass du bei den Kategorien für die Baudenkmäler von Werl die Denkmalnummer als Sortierkriterium ergänzt hast. Für mich kommt dabei eine etwas "unübersichtliche" Liste heraus: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Cultural_heritage_monuments_in_Werl. Sollte man hier nicht besser zur "natürlichen lexikogrphischen" Sortierung zurückkehren, so wie es bei einigen den Einträge schon ist? Ich denke, die Übersicht über die Baudenkmäler ist schon in der Liste auf Wikipedia gegeben, vielleicht könnte man darauf noch einen Link setzen. Gruß Bardenoki (talk) 08:17, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Tja, was nun unübersichtlich ist oder nicht, darüber lässt sich sicher streiten. Mir ist das aber letztlich ganz egal. Wenn Du es ändern willst, kannst Du das gerne tun. Viel schlimmer finde ich allerdings, dass einige Baudenkmäler fehlerhaft identifiziert worden sind. Das habe ich teilweise bereits korrigiert, der Rest folgt. Gruß -- J.-H. Hallo,

ich hoffe, dir ist bewusst, dass diese Aktion nicht wohlüberlegt war. Meet ups sind arrangierte Treffen Gleichgesinnter [1][2], wie Stammtische, von mir aus auch Redaktionstreffen. Hallo Anika, Deinen Einwand verstehe ich ehrlich gesagt nicht ganz. Die Kategorie lautete zuvor bereits Wikimedian meetups in Dresden und sie war eingeordnet in die übergeordnete Kategorie Wikimedian meetups in Germany by City. Ich habe in logischer Konsequenz dazu nun noch die Sachsen-Kategorie ergänzt. Vielleicht wäre es grundsätzlich sinnvoll, Veranstaltungen, die über das "Treffen Gleichgesinnter" hinaus gehen, dort gar nicht einzuordnen? Gruß --J.-H. Janßen (talk) 22:05, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Bitte sieh dir den verlinkten Versionsunterschied an. Du hast die Kategorie aus Category:Wikipedians in Saxony rausgenommen und auf Meetups beschränkt. Damit bin ich nicht einverstanden. Dass die einzelnen Stände/Aktivitäten auf Veranstaltungen von regelmäßigen Stammtischbesuchern organisiert und auf Stammtischen abgesprochen werden, ist wieder eine andere Frage. --Anika (talk) 14:15, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Aber die Kategorie ist doch über Category:Wikimedia meetups in Saxony nach wie vor auch Unterkategorie von Category:Wikipedians in Saxony. Von daher ist hier nichts rausgefallen. Wiki Loves Earth 2014 - Ein Wiki-Beitrag für den Naturschutz

Hallo J.-H. Janßen,

vor einer Woche endete der zweimonatige Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth. Du hast daran aktiv teilgenommen und wir möchten Dir dafür herzlich danken.

Mit rund 14.500 Fotos hat Deutschland einen Anteil von 20 % an diesem internationalen Projekt erbracht, an dem sich 15 Länder beteiligten. Sehr erfreulich ist die hohe Zahl an 729 Teilnehmern allein in Deutschland. Einen Überblick zu den Fotos und Teilnehmern findest du auf unserer WLE-Projektseite.

Gegenwärtig ist die deutsche Jury dabei, diesen wertvollen Fotobestand zu geschützten Naturlandschaften und Naturdenkmalen zu sichten. Am kommenden Wochenende wird in Hamburg die entscheidende Jury-Sitzung stattfinden. Wir wünschen auch Dir mit Deinem Foto-Beitrag dabei viel Glück und Erfolg.

Der nächste Fotowettbewerb steht bereits vor der Tür. Im September findet nun schon zum vierten Mal der Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt, wo die Kulturdenkmale im Vordergrund stehen. Doch du musst mit dem Fotografieren nicht bis zum September warten. Vielleicht kannst du den Sommer nutzen um entsprechend den offiziellen Denkmallisten geeignete Motive aufzuspüren. Hallo J.-H. Janßen,

Du hast beim Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth 2014 in Deutschland teilgenommen, wofür wir Dir herzlich danken. Ohne jeden einzelnen Teilnehmer, ohne jedes einzelne Bild wäre Wiki Loves Earth nicht so erfolgreich. Mit den vielen neuen Bildern können jetzt einerseits zahlreiche Wikipedia-Artikel bebildert werden, andererseits schaffen sie Anreize, neue Inhalte zu erstellen, die sich mit ihnen illustrieren lassen.

Von den mehr als 14.000 eingesandten Bildern hat die Jury eines oder mehrere von Dir in die deutschen Top 100 gewählt.

Die ersten zehn wurden schon für den internationalen Ausscheid gemeldet: Wiki_Loves_Earth_2014_winners#Germany

Es war der erste Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth in Deutschland und wir als Jury sind vom Erfolg überwältigt. Daher würden wir uns sehr freuen, wenn Du dich nächstes Mal erneut beteiligen würdest!

Das habe ich auch schon wahrgenommen und mich sehr über diesen Erfolg gefreut. An der Lieberoser Wüste scheinen die Juroren ja einen Narren gefressen zu haben... Allen an der Organisation und Auswertung Beteiligten mein herzliches Dankeschön für die viele Mühe! Natürlich bin ich im nächsten Jahr wieder mit dabei. Habe mich gerade selber abmelden müssen. Ich habe abends einen Termin, fahre am Wochenende in die Alpen und der Geburtstag meiner Frau steht auch noch an. Da kann ich die Zeit fürs Treffen nicht auch noch erübrigen. Wir sehen uns dann spätestens am 25. Oktober in Haltern, nehme ich an? VG
