Image deletion warning Image:Turkey_1500_LIRA_1981_back.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.

Premature QI stamp edit

Hi NoppiP, I noticed here, that you added the QI stamp to a photo, which I had just promoted. Please note that according to the rules you have to wait 48 hours after promotion. The reason is that other reviewers may disagree with my review, and they should be allowed some time to consider the review. I have undone the QI edit, just so that you know. -- Slaunger 22:43, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, you are right, I read these guidelines for QI just this second and would take this away. Again, sorry. NobbiP talk 22:46, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I had the impression that it was not intentional from your side. Just carry on the good work. -- Slaunger 23:15, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is an automated message from DRBot. (Stop bugging me!) 23:47, 1 April 2008 (UTC) I think I owe you an explanation as I tagged this for speedy. UK coins are subject to Crown copyright and do not become free until 50 years after their issue, since this coin is from 1994 it does not become free until 2044, the copyright of the subject of the photo resides with the Royal Mint despite the fact that you own the coin and that you took the photograph. In the past such discussion for deletion of British Coins have ususally gone very quickly towards deleting such images. Have a look at Category:Coins of the United Kingdom were there is a warning against loading images post 1958 and that this warning has been honoured.KTo288 22:42, 1 April 2008 (UTC)KTo288 07:56, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

You certainly have a lot of really nice pictures of plants and animals. This one, however, appears to be misidentified to species. The correct species is Cylindropuntia fulgida.

Thanks for your information, I will correct that. NobbiP 06:48, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Luxembourg 20 Euro, made of silver and titan, reverse edit

Hey thanks for uploading a better quality version of this coin. Are you a collector?Kevin hipwell (talk) 07:25, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

eeh, yes - and no ;-) sometimes, when I see specialities or something special about coins, I take a look at the price. If it seems to be a fair one, maybe. So there are no complete countries years or so. One the other hand I collected in my teens so I have some old stuff, and 3rd I spend some money as alternative to the bank in nice but cheap gold (bullion coins). You can tak a look at my money gallery which representets may be 2-5% of my collection [1]. Hope this titan coin will not be deleted... doesn't remember the cpr of Lux here, else we can upload again at WP:en with fair use. Greetings NobbiP 16:15, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Wow you have coins from all over the world (and a lot of Gold lol).
I've just been collecting Euro coins, are you gonna be getting the Austrian Niobium €25 coins?
Only the newest 2008 one, but it's on WP:en already here and here 01:57, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello NobbiP/Archive 1!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thank you. BotMultichillT (talk) 23:03, 27 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks edit

I have been enjoying your uploads of German stamps.I have my own collection but never obtained my favourites-the Wagner set of 1933 Do you have these stamps and if so would you scan them sometime? Many thanks for whats done so far and best wishes from Ireland Robert aka Notafly (talk) 20:54, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks back to you for honoring my scans. But I'm very sorry, I don't have these stamps available and I think it would be to expensive for me to catch them. I've mainly after the 2nd WW and only a few before (the cheapest German Empire and old states). Most of these I've already upload - but be carefull I have been cheated with some of my old Hannover stamps (now I've marked them) - might be the one or the other too? - Greetings to Ireland NobbiP 21:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

That is sad.Yes they are very expensive. I will see if someone will help by writing to a stamp magazine. All old stamps are a real problem unless it is a family collection and you can be really sure.Mine is mostly DDR but no early issues from there either.

In de:Briefmarken-Jahrgang 1969 der Deutschen Post der DDR is an ongoing Projekt side by side of "Berlin" (finished) and "BRD" (finshed 1949..1969 and some more) who will have all the stamps in articles separated by year, take a look. But it will may be take a loooooooooong time for scan about 3000 pcs of DDR and also still up to 2500 for BRD. (We must be very crazy boys) - Have a good night NobbiP 22:37, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step - Chairman Mao Tse Tung. Nice 1949 DDR I don't have these early ones. Best regards Robert akaNotafly (talk) 21:54, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

You and Mao are right, but I can do only the first "four" steps. I've got only 1949 of them. Greetings NobbiP 21:57, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

1933 Wagner stamps edit

These cannnot be in copyright so I uploaded web images. Lets see what happens. I was at Lorlei Rhine 4 weeks ago also in Frankfurt Guetersloh etc. Happye Easter Robert Notafly (talk) 14:49, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Notafly, happy easter for you as well. Of course these stamps are not copyright protected, did you mean necause the notification one up? these meant a gold coin which was not ok. Thanks for upload of these Wagner set, do you allow me to enhanced them a bit? I mean correct the horizontaly direction, cropp as far as needed, and try to remove the pocket strip a bit? Secondly I would to suggest to rename the one with the doubled "Tannhäuser" to the "Fliegender Holländer" - I can do that as trusted "renamer" if it's ok for you. Greets NobbiP 16:06, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, of course.I did very little here, because stamps are only a hobby for me. I had, for instance just uploaded a hundred or so butterfly images from Museum Wiesbaden taken during an entomological (Insekten)trip to Germany in March which was when I went to the Middle Rhine valley. I may upload a few other of my Briefmarken favourites soon. Thanks for your kind offer. It is very much appreciated.Very best wishes from rainy Ireland Robert Notafly (talk) 08:14, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Scanner edit

Great news.I have some stamps (old Germany) that I must look out and send (originals) + some interesting early North Vietnam ex a freind in DDR.They may take time to find.Let me know if you are interested. My e-mail is on the website given on my main wiki talk page. Thanks for your effort.Best regards from Ireland.Robert Notafly (talk) 19:56, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

doesn't know exactly what you mean, you wan't to send origin stamps to me for scan? or scans to enhance? Let's first look which you have, I've some in my stockbock, so if they are the same it doesn't make sense. You have a Michel catalogue for the numbers? or can you describe the stamps you have? And yes I'm interested in old German but sorry, not in stamps of Vietnam (may be copyright protected anyway). Good Night NobbiP 21:51, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I will send original stamps for your scanner. First examples are Saargebiet 1920 overprint issue 3 mint 5, 10 and 60 with overprint shift: ATM stamp with missing black value imprint. DDR 2 coil stamps accidentally printed in sheets; all later DDR mostly mint and many miniature sheets DDR SG EEO207 unmounted sheet of ten: West Berlin 1960-1985 complete set of mint.It may take some time to list all but I will make a start.Cheers RobertNotafly (talk) 10:06, 17 April 2009 (UTC) Germania definitive set Michel 140-153; Bavaria Essay for 1920 definitive series. The others I will photograph and send as attachments. Then you can choose. By E-mail is best but I could upload to Commons. Cheers again RobertReply

Hi notafly, Saargebiet is fine, DDR mint or similar is not nessesary, because Nightflyer is on work of the complete DDR since 1955 until 1990, and as far as I know all miniature sheets are done. West Berlin is also done and on commons completely. Germania 140-153 mint I've complete except the 151 11/4. Bavaria 1920 (?) 177 and 178 to 195 ? I own these stamps as well. So I could help and scan / upload tons of stamps, but it cost a lot of time not only to scan but for make it ready to upload. I think about 15 to 30 min for every and each stamp - an sometime I've to work as well ;-) Further I commit to expand the West-Germany set from actually 1972 (1949 to 1971 are done) to now and want to do for my self to create the stamps of German Reich beginning with 1944 / 45 backwards (I've these except 2 of them complete on my PC ready for upload). I'll email you my address if you still interested and willing to wait. Have a nice day NobbiP 12:59, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Neubenennung edit

-- Danke und Gruß, Fice (talk) 07:43, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Grüßle NobbiP 16:36, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:DR 1941 787 Adolf Hitler 2.jpg -> Ostland 1941 7 Adolf Hitler.jpg edit

Grüße, --Martin H. (talk) 12:28, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

--Martin H. (talk) 14:25, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thank you for your nice explanation, that was very kind of you. I just think most people won't understand all those codes, so simplifying the names a bit would help. Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:02, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Definitive stamps of Germany edit

Hallo, was bedeutet Category:Definitive stamps of Germany? Gruß, --R. Engelhardt (talk) 00:05, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

do you want to see the dimensions of stamps in mm? cant say that in detail. But, all stamps uploaded of myself and also of user:Nightflyer are scanned in 1200 dpi - reworked - and scaled down to 50%, means they should scaled to 600 dpi. (Exceptions are only some miniature sheets which are scaled down to 25%.) So you are able to measure the size in pixels and calc to the size in mm by your self. Hope that helps and you are able to read and understand my English. NobbiP 16:55, 1 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

File mover edit

The functionality of the template {{Rename}} has recently changed. You might need to clear your cache to see the changes. If successful you should then be able to use the new "Quick adding" link in the template to instruct CommonsDelinker to replace the old name with the new name in all wikis. Please use that every time you rename a file. If further questions arise, feel free to write on my talk page --DieBuche (talk) 10:00, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yeah nice to see someone working on the file moves :-) But there is no need to sign [4] since the bot do not care and it only leaves more work to cleanup :-) --MGA73 (talk) 17:14, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
I actually put the signature in the template, so that i can easily make sure that all requests are from legit filemovers, when I move the commands to the main page--DieBuche (talk) 21:40, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks MGA73 for your note and also DieBuche for make it clear ... or not clear? I'll use my sign again next time ;-) A good night. NobbiP 21:48, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well now that it is all clear: Enjoy! :-D Well problem is that there is no documentation telling what template should do and/or not do. File movers should be allowed to add commands directly and not post on the talk page but that is not an option right now so I think it is ok to add a signature now that DieBuche told me the reason for signing. When I add the command I use the quick-adding link and there I get no signature (at least not when I used it last time). --MGA73 (talk) 21:59, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Here's the reason for that: The template contains two divs, one with the id "nuke" & one with the id "filemover". Admins only get to see the nuke part, containing no signature. Filemovers only get to see their part with a link to the talk page & a sig. The rest of the users doesn't see anything after the sentence "This request will be dealt with by an administrator or filemover" --DieBuche (talk) 12:35, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Magnolia files renamed edit

Thanks for renaming the Magnolia files I tagged for renaming so soon and conform my suggestions. - Wikiklaas (talk) 22:52, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I do my best. But rename this: File:Yulan 2.JPG to this: File:Mulan 2.JPG could not be serious, could it? NobbiP 20:56, 9 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for taking notice and being so thorough. But the renaming of Yulan 2.JPG into Mulan 2.jpg was indeed a serious request. Maybe you would have to know a bit about Magnolia names to appreciate this. "Mulan" is the Chinese name for Magnolia liliiflora; "Yulan" is the Chinese name for Magnolia denudata. These are two quite different species. Magnolia experts will expect a quite different species in a file called "Yulan" than they would expect in a file called "Mulan". This is exactly what is wrong with the naming of the file "Yulan 2.JPG", which in fact depicts a "Mulan". So yes: I am absolutely honestly and utterly serious when I make a request for renaming that file. I know my bit on Magnolia names. I would never make jokes about this subject and also would never try to mislead people when I make requests which other users will have to fulfill, nor would I ask for unnecessary or unimportant changes. I am a serious contributor to wikipedia and I have no other aims than to improve it. - Wikiklaas (talk) 01:29, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done this one - MPF (talk) 16:25, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks to both of you to make it clear and already rename this pic. For me "Mulan 2" is the name of a movie from the Disney Studios only. So even if you are right, I'd suggest to rename to "Magnolia liliiflora xxx" may be xxx as number or even then as Mulan. Anyway, similar to MBF: "Done (th)is (d)one". File:UK traffic sign 670V30.svg edit

Hi NobbiP,

I noticed you renamed the above file "per naming convention". Would you provide me with a link or details on the convention? -- User:Docu at 07:34, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Doku, the "per naming convention" was a request by user:Svgalbertian (see also history of the file), I did the rename because of the many other road signs in the Category:Diagrams of road signs of the United Kingdom have this filename format. It I went wrong, so please tell me why. NobbiP talk 08:32, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Unless you can establish such a convention, there isn't really a reason to rename the file. Personally, I think "speedy limit sign" is better than just "traffic sign". -- User:Docu at 07:03, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

--ChristianSW (talk) 06:14, 6 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Gruß, NobbiP talk 14:05, 6 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
--ChristianSW (talk) 14:38, 6 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
NobbiP talk 14:45, 6 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hallo! Gruß --ChristianSW (talk) 06:00, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Saarland / Dienstmarken edit

Viele Grüße --A. Wagner (talk) 13:15, 9 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Viele Grüße --A. Briefmarke Stiefel bei Sankt Ingbert edit

Hallo NobbiP,

Viele Grüße, {4 Tilden ->} NobbiP 11:17, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello NobbiP! Under which conditions is it possible to use your images of German stamps to illustrate a new stamp exchange site (Same site than http://www.timbres-benelux.be/ or http://www.philateliefree.fr/ ). Thank's --Lchabot (talk) 09:41, 10 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello Lchabot, for my personal understanding, alle German stamps at least up to 1995 are in public domain. Some people, also here in WP thinks this isn't correct and have already deleted some of them. Anyway from my site feel free to use any stamp I've ever uploaded here - but the minimal last bit of risc is on your own. I of course would like to see a remark anywhere on your site that the scans are from wikmedia and a link to it, not for each scan but for these hole thing. Like "Many (or most) Scans of the German stamps are from [wikimedia commons]" Have fun with your next project. NobbiP 17:24, 10 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello NobbiP, thank you so much for your quick answer. I am delighted to be able to use your scans, I would put a link to your Wikimedia page to indicate the images origin. The site will be online in a few months, I will post a new message on your page when online. Thank's a lot. --Lchabot (talk) 11:50, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
