RE: "Copyright violations"

Hi INeverCry,

Before deleting or blocking my account for copy violation consider that the burden of proof is on YOU and that these files are not copy right violations as far as I'm aware. Please note that Wikipedia requires affirmative proof, beyond a Reasonable Doubt in such situations!

Thank you, --Cormag100 (talk) 18:55, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Actually, the burden is on the uploader to show that uploads are in fact free. Most of your's are not. I just tagged one that's a screencap from a Youtube video. These aren't your "own work". They're copyright violations. I've blocked you for 1 week. Please review Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter before making more uploads. INeverCry 19:24, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

File:31WE-001.jpg

Hello. Why this file was deleted? Therud (talk) 11:23, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

It was deleted as a copyvio of http://rail.phototrans.eu/14,75126,0,NEWAG_31WE_31WE_001.html which was uploaded in 2012. INeverCry 15:58, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
If somebody upload photo on rail.phototrans.eu then he can not upload it also on commons? Sometimes peolpes write articles about things, which they have never seen. In such cases they find photo on internet, contact author and request him to upload photo to improve article. Therud (talk) 07:51, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Are you the author of this image? INeverCry 17:08, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
No. I am 'requester' of uploading. Therud (talk) 09:24, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
We would need COM:OTRS permission from the author in order to host this image on Commons. INeverCry 16:15, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

File:Lee Hi.jpg

Hello, File:Lee Hi.jpg is not a copyvio, because the image is not mere an advertisement what Sreejith K said, but is from LG's official Flickr account licensed under cc-by license. please see a similar case: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File_talk:Super_junior111.jpg --Puramyun31 (talk) 03:11, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Looks like Sreejithk2000 is taking care of this one. INeverCry 20:34, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

OTRS permission

Hi, this permission is only valid for File:The Big Green Pocketbook, written and illustrated by Felicia Bond, children's book illustrator.jpeg. There are several unprocessed tickets in the queue for other files, I'm currently working on it. Jcb (talk) 10:50, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that. INeverCry 20:35, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

File:Olga Behar.JPG

Hi! I recieved an e-mail notificating that you deleted a photo (Olga Behar.JPG) that I upload on wikimedia commons because of Copyright permissions. However, I do believe that my use of the image was not inadequate due to it is a justified use. and also, I put in the commentaries of the photo the sourse and moment of the video. Actually it is just a piece of the video, so I do not really see why it should be prohibited. Anyways I would like ypu to share your reasosn to do it. But seriously I would love if you understand my point of view and let me put the photo again, I repeat, I think it is a justified use of the pic. Thanks for your consideration.

This was deleted because the source http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcCne-mVlAs is under a standard Youtube license, which is unacceptable for Commons. In order to upload a screencap from a Youtube video to Commons, the video has to be under a Creative Commons free license. See Commons:Video#Finding videos online. INeverCry 20:33, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

File:AI NGBA.jpg

I'm new to wikipedia, so i'm not sure why the image was removed. It is an album cover for the band that I am creating a page for. The artwork is for a band that I am working with, and not copywrited.

This was deleted because it was previously published at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=433349343379265&set=a.192054687508733.48087.192052694175599&type=1&theater. OTRS permission from the copyright holder is needed before the file can be restored. INeverCry 01:25, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

What if I am the copyright holder? How do I show you evidence of that?

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jenering (talk • contribs) 12:41, May 18, 2013‎ (UTC)
Contact COM:OTRS and give permission for the image. Tell them who you are, and give them the relevant copyright details. If your claim is found to be sufficient by OTRS members, the file can be restored. INeverCry 20:55, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi INeverCry, User:Jcb recently advised me to not to appeal for blocks against group usernames here. Since I have invoked a block action by you in the discussion, will you please comment in the discussion? TIA Rahul Bott (talk) 05:07, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

thanks

thank-you for the reply & restoring the image. if i remember correctly the other image was a logo or something; i do remember there was some reason i didn't include it in the comment.

i'm sorry for the delay in following-up here, i try not to spend too much of my time on "behind the scenes" stuff @ wikis; it gets too involved & sucks up too much of my time & effort. usually i try to just comment & move on; maybe check back a month later, if i remember...

Autoportrait Hubertine Heijermans

Hello INeverCry, I can understand that a mistake might happen when a painter makes a 'Selfportrait'. The image I am talking about is just that, but in french it is called 'Autoportrait'. The reason that I probably make a mistake for which I am sorry, is that I corrected the image myself, because it was too dark and my computer slightly disformed it, which I corrected. I did not know how the same person goes about a painting of himself. But how can another person upload my own selfportrait? Thanks for an answer, I will appreciate, because the portrait is 54 years ago, an oilpainting painted by the young girl I was. Now I am old I see it suddenly deleted, but the rules are the rules, and I did not know it is difficult for paintings I make of my own face. Best greetings --Kalaharih (talk) 13:12, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

If you're Hubertine Heijermans, all you have to do is contact COM:OTRS and give permission for hosting these artworks on Commons. If everything checks out, they can be restored. INeverCry 16:59, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Deletion question

Best INeverCry, Could you explain why the pictures "Muziekinstrumenten, Grote schelp and Wandkleed Vlinder" has been deleted. I don't understand becourse i am the one who has taken these pictures and I am the person who own the rights of these works. With best regards,

This Major DR

Dear Admin INeverCry,

Stefan4 has launched a DR on uploads by a certain user (Bru216) who appears to be engaging in mass license laundering on his flickr and panoramio account. I have made comments. Admin Lymantria has been notified on his talkpage but he is away (at this time of day). But you are invited to make a comment in the DR (to delete, keep, etc) if you wish. This all started when user Glabb sent me a complaint here

  • This is going to be a real mess to clean up sadly. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 22:41, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
I'll keep an eye on this one, but I'd rather not comment, as I'd prefer to close it if/when needed. INeverCry 01:01, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
  • I understand. This DR is a major one because so many images have been stolen from so many web sites. This uploader creates a picasa acount now just to upload another stolen image. Its the same story as Glabb says. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 02:06, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

File:Peckhamia 94.1.pdf

Hello, this type of file is valid? that job was not right?--Veronidae (talk) 01:02, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

I would suggest asking Kaldari about it. INeverCry 01:07, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Isa Nacewa

How exactly did it violate copyright? Yes a picture with the same name was deleted a year ago, it wasn't the same picture, this one passed the commons criteria 2.0. I remember that picture, it was taken from a website, this was straight from flickr with the RIGHT LICENSING. .....--Stemoc (talk) 07:05, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

It wasn't the "right licensing" at all. The source http://www.flickr.com/photos/martindo/3571714858/sizes/l/in/photostream/ is under a non-commercial, non-derivative license (CC BY-NC-ND 2.0). Commons doesn't accept NC/ND licenses. See COM:L for appropriate licenses. INeverCry 17:20, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Dear Admin INeverCry,

I would like to request your help in restoring an image I uploaded to Wikicommons. I am the copyright owner and creator of the image. I have preemptively contacted COM:OTRS with my permission. If you're able to help restore this photo, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. I hope I've submitted this correctly!

Thanks!

The image was deleted as coming from http://photoscopie.prophoto.fr/photoscopie/uploads/images_thumbs/0b/ryan-obermeyer-0b2679db.jpg. This means that OTRS permission will have to come through before the file can be restored. An OTRS member will handle the process. INeverCry 17:22, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

This Comment

Dear INeverCry,

I don't know if you have ever flickrmailed people to get them to license images freely from flickr but if you have--like I have in this case--you should read the above message. It concerns the newly redesigned flickr website and how it reduces a flickr account owner's ability to license an image freely. Like Bidgee, I dislike this feature of the new flickr design sadly. Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 08:14, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

I sympathize of course, but I deal with free Flickr images only. I think it's unfortunate that so many Flickr users put what I see as completely unnecessary non-free licenses on what often ammounts to snapshots, but that's their prerogative. I don't ever intend to contact any of them by email. INeverCry 17:55, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
  • I understand. But this 'design change' by flickr means that many flickr account owners won't even know how to license their images feeely since the redesign by Yahoo hid the 'edit' button for license changes. And its usually the quality images that are under a restrictive license. This means...less free images from flickr in the long run sadly. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 18:42, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Please comment

INeverCry, if you have some time, will you please have a look at the second discussion thread on File talk:'Schloss' in Uster, Ansicht von der Talackerstrasse 2012-11-14 13-28-32.JPG. I removed, with this edit, a gallery of photos which were not other versions of the file but simply different photographs from the other_versions entry of the file description. User:Roland zh reverted it soon enough with edit summary "potentially vandalism reverted, next one will be handled as 'Commons User Problems'". I tried to start a discussion with him on the file talk page, since he has made clear on his talk page that he does not like the messages to be posted there and erases any such message zealously saying he is too busy. He replied saying that "forced discussion" is a "personal attack" and frankly, it might also be a bit about language problem as English is not the mother tongue for either of us!

I know it is not a big deal but for future purposes, I would just like to know

  1. Whether putting all of these files as the gallery on the file page was correct? Please evaluate each individual file entry if you can.
  2. Is there some limit to what can be put in the other_versions entry in file description?
  3. Was I so wrong in removing them that it should be called "potentially vandalism"?

You may please consider commenting on the File talk page or my talk page. TIA. Rahul Bott (talk) 07:53, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

I've commented there. I don't know why people put on the confused act with such simple terms as "other versions". What else could it possibly mean? One thing about the discussion there: your comments are a bit hard to follow because of the lack of indenting. : should follow the first comment, then ::, then :::, then ::::, and so on. That way we can see cleary what you're responding to. INeverCry 17:40, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments there :-) Oh and I normally decrease the indentation to check it from going too much to the right! Did I get it right this time with this very reply? :-P I need one more help from you. User:Roland zh has also marked 6 of the files contributed by me for deletion. Here they are:
I do strongly feel that the files are good PD-India images very similar to File:C. D. Deshmukh.jpg recently closed by you as "kept", as they are "Photographs created before 1958" and, therefore, in public domain in India as per Template:PD-India itself. All the DRs has been open for almost a month now with comments/votes from me and Roland only. Can you take time out and close them or atleast comment on them. File:Anarchitekton by Jordi Colomer.jpg

Hello. Why this file was deleted? PAMPA321

Because it's a derivative work of the images on the two big screens in the photo. INeverCry 02:46, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

If the author of this derivative work is the same author of the original (the images on the screen), and giving agreement and the permission ??? There is no sense to delete it...! Thank you PAMPA321

There was plenty of sense in deleting it:

1. The file was uploaded by User:Pescailla, so we have no way of knowing if this is really the artist themselves. COM:OTRS permission from them would be needed.

2. Jordi Colomer doesn't have any wiki articles, and doesn't seem to be a notable artist. This means that, aside from copyright concerns, a work like the above may be out of COM:SCOPE. INeverCry 18:36, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

MY OWN files

I got a message saying that my files were deleted because they "have been marked as a possible copyright violation" by you. Those files are:

File:Logo Centauros.png File:Logo Galgos.png File:Temporada Regular 2012.jpg File:Logo Oficial FABB.jpg File:Logo Oficial HOR.jpg File:Membrette Oficial HOR.jpg File:Membrette Oficial FABB.jpg

Let me tell you that I MADE THEM BY MYSELF AND THEY'RE PROPERTY OF THE AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE OF BAHIA BLANCA, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA. I own the copyrights, it's not a copyright violation! I don't know why people here mark everything without knowing anything, but I can tell you that those files are mine and I can prove it, just tell me how you'd like me to do it and I'll do it. Please undelete them as soon as possible, it took me a long time to understand how this Wikipedia thing works to create my pages, now please bring my files back!

This football league needs to grow and I need my page and my files, please undelete them and if you can help me to not let others delete them again. You won't find those pictures anywhere else in this world by any other person than me. So please, undelete them!

Thanks and sorry for the madness there but I'm really sick of receiving this kind of messages from everywhere. --Fabbredskins 95 (talk) 01:23, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

These are complex copyrighted logos. If you're the copyright holder, please send an email to COM:OTRS giving permission to have them on Commons. If everything checks out, they will restore the files for you. INeverCry 01:22, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
What do I have to send them? I mean, formally?, informally? How? How much information? How many details? I don't know how Wikipedia works! I need help with that. --Fabbredskins 95 (talk) 01:27, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
A blank template showing what your email should contain and how it should basically be formatted can be found at COM:OTRS#Declaration of consent for all enquiries. You should also give the whole COM:OTRS page a quick read. Once you've sent the email, it will be handled by an OTRS member. This person will be able to tell you if any other info is needed, or if your initial email is sufficient. INeverCry 02:27, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Oh, ok. And what do I have to do if I upload more files like these to avoid their deletion? Also, what about my user page? What should it contain? How can I edit it? Thank you for your help!--Fabbredskins 95 (talk) 02:54, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, another problem came up, I can't seem to find a way to link to the files because they're now deleted. I need to link them in the part where I have to specify the work(s) on the email I'm sending to COM:OTRS. I can attach the files, but I want to specify that they were deleted, so what should I do? Any advice to do it differently? Thank you. --Fabbredskins 95 (talk) 03:13, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
In regard to further uploads, you should mention that in your email to OTRS. An OTRS member can tell you what you need to do. To edit your userpage, just click the edit button at the top. There's no set guideline on what you can put on your userpage. You might want to look around at other people's userpages, to get an idea of what others do for their userpages. As for the files, I would suggest copy and pasting the list you gave above into your email to OTRS and indicating that the files have been deleted on Commons. INeverCry 03:19, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Perfect, I will do that. Thank you for the help. --Fabbredskins 95 (talk) 03:35, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
When it says "[SENDER'S NAME AND DETAILS (to allow future verification of authenticity)]", what kind of details is it referring to? Personal information? --Fabbredskins 95 (talk) 03:47, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

FIFA Logo(2010) cropped.svg

I think this file is now surplus to requirements for the solution discussed at File talk:FIFA Logo(2010).svg#Do all four exist somewhere ?, Leyo is participating in that discussion and I wouldn't think it would annoy him if someone else cleaned up, or it could go through the process or whatever is good. Would you like to have a look, or shall I take the request to a fireproof page :) ? Penyulap 18:56, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I wouldn't want to step on Leyo's toes. I figure if an admin wants his or her own upload deleted, their [Delete] button works as good as mine. (Though I've worn the letters off of my poor old button). INeverCry 19:03, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
hmm, I guess so. No problem, thanks.
Maybe replace the key with one of those dynamite plungers, or get a handyman to connect it to the flush button :) waste a lot of water that way I guess, but it would be funny for a change. Maybe one of those video-game guns that you point at the screen is the ideal way to do mass deletions, yes, I think so. Not too hard to do, you could eventually have two guns in two holsters and then jump up from your chair and wipe out a whole gallery. Hmmm, definitely the way to go. Penyulap 19:14, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Big guns are great, but what we really need is more gunslingers. INeverCry 18:21, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of my UserPage

Hello !

I created a UserPage yesterday but I saw you deleted it. It astonishes me, as I just copied and pasted the content of my Userpage on Wikipedia, which wasn't deleted. Could you explain me why you deleted it, and also what I should put on it so that it doesn't get deleted when I'll recreate it ?

Thanks in advance for your indulgence : I am new here. :-)

Have a nice day,

Verbose Dreamer. VerboseDreamer (talk) 17:20, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

File:Rajko Korošec.jpg

Hi, the author of this image has just corrected the licensing, so it is now CC-BY-SA.[1] Can you please undelete it? --Eleassar (t/p) 20:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

  Done INeverCry 20:20, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Thank you. --Eleassar (t/p) 20:25, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

File:Rajko Korošec.jpg is just one of my images on Commons, Eleassar marked as copyvio or wrong licenced. It would cost much less energy if there were a week time between the warning and the deleting instead of immediate deleting of the marked files by you or by Eleassar, so the author could have corrected the licencing of the source.
You should know that the Slovene wiki community as a whole has had long lasting periodic conflicts with Eleassar due to his radical and isolated positions and »scribal« decisionmaking (look at my appeal on Wikimedia to stop his excessive deleting passion). E. g. the following two Eleassar's interventions.
1. File:Milan lipovec.jpg. I've gained the OTRS-code for this image of mine, which I uploaded onto Slovene Wikipedia years ago and was transfered on Wikimedia in 2010. E. is not satisfied with the OTRS, demanding: »For the file Milan lipovec.jpg, please post it at your web page so that the free license will be verifiable. Thank you. --Eleassar (t/p) 13:14, 23 May 2013 (UTC).«  As there is the evidence of my uploading the image onto Slovene Wikimedia in the log, I find his demand for an additional inventive proof arbitrary and discriminatory. (FYI, the videorecorded writer Milan Lipovec, who died 1996, was my relative.)
2. File:Miran Hladnik.jpg. This photography of me was taken back in 2006 by self-timer or by my wife. As my wife has been mentioned in the image's log, E. demands she has to apply for an OTRS licence, which we both find redundant; my wife cleared the ambiguity of the photo's »author« to the person who volonteers by giving the OTRS codes, (in Slovene) however, the OTRS code hasn't been granted because the request couldn't be formulated in an official form. (BTW, OTRS ticket sent to me don't include numbered codes - {{OTRS|-}} - which raises assumption they are fake.)
I would appreciate if you check his proposals with more caution in advance, as he is simply too quick in his decisions and changes his own corrections and proposals frequently, returning his editions back to previous ones, after recognizing his fault, thus making the refferencing in the debate difficult and causing bad temper among the uploaders. Most users simply give up, because they don't have enough time, energy and nerves for the pedantic scribal intercourse with Eleassar. Eleassar's reliability has been recently deminished also by the sloppiness of his corrections, e. g. in File:Pasica_portal_literatura.jpg he repeatedly quoted a wrong source supposedly checked by him. --Hladnikm (talk) 11:46, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
With images tagged for speedy deletion, I don't delete without a copyvio url or a convincing reason. With deletion requests, I only delete uncontested FOP cases and others with convincing rationales and/or ones with convincing delete votes by other users. As for Eleassar, I won't treat him any differently than anyone else. I assume that he does his deletion requests and CSDs in good faith according to his understanding of applicable copyright law. The image is in public domain according to the Copyright law of Bangladesh. See this and this. So can it be undeleted? Thanks.--Kmzayeem (talk) 18:10, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

FOP applies to the building. The above image was taken from http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=821488, and so COM:OTRS permisson from the author (tanzirian) is needed to have it on Commons. INeverCry 00:20, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
The FOP says artistic recreations of public architecture and art work are exceptions to the rights of authors and the image was of a public building, doesn't it fall under FOP? --Kmzayeem (talk) 03:36, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
I think I need to clarify this properly, Chittagong High Court Building is a public building (or public architecture), so if anyone takes a photo of it, the photo would be exception to the right of the photographer according to the copyright law. Hence, in this case we don't need the permission of the author, am I correct?--Kmzayeem (talk) 11:48, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
FOP allows people to photograph public buildings like the above without violating the copyright of the architect, but it doesn't apply to the photographs themselves. The copyright of the photos belong to the photographers. You yourself could take a photo of this building and upload it right now under a free license because it's your's, but with the above image, the author is tanzirian, and so we need his permission to have his photograph here under a free license. BSicon request

Hi, would you be able to separate file histories into two pages? The issue is with File:BSicon dSTRr+1h.svg and File:BSicon dSTR2h+r.svg. It was decided that the versions of these files prior to Axpde's messing with histories on the 9th of May 2013 (currently hidden from public view) should be restored at File:BSicon dSTRr+1.svg and File:BSicon dSTR2+r.svg, respectively, while his own and later uploads and revisions should be at titles with an "h". Is that possible? If yes, I would be very grateful if you undertake that task. Sorry for bothering! YLSS (talk) 23:34, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi YLSS. I'm extremely busy, and I have very little experience with this. I think you'd get a much faster and better result if you posted this on COM:AN. INeverCry 00:24, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Leandro Rocha (talk) 19:25, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

The explanation is in the deletion rationale: COM:DW. This was deleted because the Deodoro poster you photographed is itself a copyrighted work. This means that taking a photo of it is a derivative work. INeverCry 19:50, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

File:Jindřich Hudeček.jpg

Hi, I have noticed something strange. Some weeks ago I found a copyright violation with File:Jindřich Hudeček.jpg (the image was taken from here: [2]), so I added {{Copyvio}} and you deleted the file: [3].

Today another user has re-uploaded the file (File:Jindřich Hudeček.jpg), but he has also uploaded the file on flickr ([4], same resolution, uploaded today), so it seems a correct upload.

I think that if user Kr222 is the copyright owner, he should use Commons:OTRS, not this flickr licensing trick, isn't it? Thanks. --Rotpunkt (talk) 20:31, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Kr222 isn't actually saying he's the author. He's just uploading a free-license image from Flickr. I've corrected the author attribution. This Flickr account may very well belong to HUDYsport, as indicated, which would mean the image is ok. Also, the deleted image and this one are different, though they both come from the Hudy website. I guess you could email the HUDYsport website and attempt to confirm that the Flickr account is theirs, but as it sits, I would have to assume that the website and Flickr accounts are connected and that the images are free. INeverCry 21:16, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the answer. I thought that the fact the image was published on a website ([5]) before being uploaded on flickr ([6] says: "uploaded 31 may 2013") represented a problem. Cya! --Rotpunkt (talk) 21:33, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

I is too lazy to do homework, can U do it 4 me ?

Hi INeverCry, I uploaded an image which now has the correct filename, it is here the other ones in that series 1-4 are here. One was cropped so it doesn't show up in my recent uploads which is great because it's awfully annoying to have work punctuating the nonstop crap I upload. There was all those infernal horsies and so on before, and it looks like these silly sepias now. This is really bad for my new image. So I was wanting to ask you to do lots of renaming because I'm too lazy to fill in forms :D this is good for my image, yes? The 4 need meaningful names. (which makes me think if I did it, I'd call them File:meaningful name 1.jpg, File:meaningful name 2.jpg, actually I shouldn't mention that one, someone will get the jump on it) Penyulap 08:49, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure what to rename them. Just using the author's name and a number doesn't seem like a great improvement, but the location descriptions are confusing for me. INeverCry 20:13, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Sorry about the confusion, I had just cut and pasted verbatim from the one Oursana had filled in to the new ones, rather than leaving them blank. So they don't really have meaningful descriptions (or paperwork as I call it), just yet. That comes from the silly hounding I get about FX lab requests, I just cut'n'paste to the new image as it shuts up a lot of harassers, and I let the requester know to fill in the details. The requester invariably knows more about the images than the artist does, and the flip-side of that is unfortunate, People don't really know what I am capable of and so they don't ask. I like the map on my talkpage with the moving arrow, (sigh) but nobody is going to know to ask for one of those.
The real descriptions are on that website linked to from my talkpage, they are all in Italian and Oursana suggests doing them later. Salviati, Paolo 3, Salviati, Paolo 4, Salviati, Paolo 5, was the idea, but I guess you're right. No problem. Penyulap 20:26, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

May I ask you to delete File:Stolen Goo.png, enough people are unable to cope with the educational concept it has, so I'll have to redesign it in such a way as they can't meddle with what they don't understand. Penyulap 20:42, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

Requests for rights

Hi, can (may) you give me the «patrol user rights»?   --Ray Garraty (talk) 18:51, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

I'd have to see some COM:CSD and COM:DR work from you before I would feel comfortable giving you an advanced right like patroller. You basically have to show that you have the experience to patrol the uploads and edits of others and pick out the copyvio, spam, vandalism, and out of scope stuff. INeverCry 19:51, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
I see. I have created a deletion requests. but not often. As for vandalism or spam... I come across such a situation.--Ray Garraty (talk) 20:36, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
I would suggest you spend some time tagging copyvios, out of scope files and pages, spam, etc here, here, and here. Experience in these areas is what I like to see when giving the patroller right. INeverCry 22:20, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Categories by day

Please restore the Switzerland-by-day categories you just deleted, as there has been no reason for speedy deletion. The categories were either emptied by the user that requested deletion or have not been filled yet because there had not been enough time before the deletion requests. --Abderitestatos (talk) 20:10, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Here's the CSD rationale:

"created by User:Abderitestatos although there's no consense, empty category i.e. no media categorized, as well as ref User talk:Abderitestatos Feb-June 2013 and User talk:Morio June 2013 -- User:Roland zh"

Take this up with Roland, and if you get it figured out, feel free to re-create the categories. INeverCry 20:17, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
And how does this rationale meet criteria for speedy deletion? Speedy deletion is for uncontroversial cases only, so you ought to have dismissed these requests, so would you please restore these categories; if Roland wants them deleted anyway, he still can use Commons:Categories for discussion. --Abderitestatos (talk) 21:02, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Empty categories are eligible for speedy deletion, which is why I deleted these. See the deletion rationale on each one. I only mentioned Roland and his full original rationale because I thought maybe you'd want to discuss this with him before re-creating them since he's raised an issue with them. Observe que o site autoriza expressamente o uso das fotos. Leandro LV (talk) 04:23, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

The site expressly authorizes the use of photos to media coverage. Leandro LV (talk) 04:26, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

The cite says the photos are for use on the "Miss World official website and in the media." This is insufficient for Commons. The site would have to expressly give a Creative Commons license that allows for derivatives and commercial use for the file to be ok for Commons. See COM:L. INeverCry 04:31, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

This license is general in Brazil, the author's intention was to release the use of images. Leandro LV (talk) 04:38, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

We have to have proof at the source or from the copyright holder of the image that it is released under a license that allows for commercial use and derivatives. INeverCry 04:43, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
I only know that the author wished to spread the photos for publication, I think the image should not be barred because of bureaucracy. Leandro LV (talk) 04:46, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
Did the author mean for others to be able to make money off of the image, or to alter it? These are requirements of having an image hosted under a free license on Commons (commercial use and derivatives). We need to know that the author understands this. We can't just assume. INeverCry 04:49, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
The meaning of the sentence is clear, the author wants the images to be used as free dissemination without financial return in view of the actual photos. You made an error erasing the image, the authorization for all forms of use was broad and unrestricted. Leandro LV (talk) 00:26, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
The deletion was absolutely justified per Commons licensing policy. We need an explicit free license to be given at the source, or the author must contact COM:OTRS and give permission for hosting the image on Commons. INeverCry 00:36, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

--Pablo189 (talk) 05:46, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

So that to ensure that all licensing requirements are set correctly (and that I may proceed to upload some derivatives under the license's terms)

Thanks in advance --RussianTrooper (talk) 18:05, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

I've reviewed the 3 Kuzmin photos. The gun image details are confusing. The first upload, in 2010, is to Deviant Art. I don't see the need for the second source, which was uploaded in June, 2011. I also don't see the need for the details about "per Age of Atom Wiki standard license". This is released clearly at Deviant Art under {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}}, and so the Atom Wiki stuff, and the explanation of the license requirements look to be superfluous. I would suggest removing the Atom Wiki source/details, and the "Permission confirmed by mr. Kenshin personally. Commercial re-use require full attribution of the author in any case of such use", as this seems confusing and unneeded. No personal confirmation, or mention thereof, is needed when the author has directly given indication of a free license at the original source. INeverCry 18:30, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Autopatrol given

Thanks you for autopatrol rights, hopefully admins workloads will be slightly reduced as a result. Liamdavies (talk) 18:47, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Thank you.

Thank you for speedy deleting my image. Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to preview a CC template, and I decided to upload a test image. Sorry for this, and thank you once again. I hope I did not disrupt Commons. Optakeover (talk) 01:46, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

No problem, but if you want to upload tests in future, make sure you upload free images. This looked like a possible copyrighted quote with a copyrighted flower background. Sometimes I patrol and tag new images very quickly, and you wouldn't want an upload of yours to be tagged as a copyvio before you had the chance to tag it for deletion yourself. INeverCry 02:12, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes I believe it was copyrighted. My sincere apologies for that. By the way, just now you flagged File:MAN_NL363NF.jpg for speedy deletion due to source being watermarked for having a non-commercial license. I am actually acting on behalf of the author and licensor, and I can confirm that the image was correctly licensed, as shown by the watermark, as CC BY-NC-SA. As an admin I believe that you are able to have the image deleted as well. Optakeover (talk) 02:38, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Another admin will likely delete it soon. I'm just about done for the night. INeverCry 02:42, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Origati

Hello,

Please I would like to understand why you removed files covered by freedom of panorama in Israel?

The reproduction of this architectural work, work of sculpture or work of applied art, is covered under the Israeli copyright statute (2007), which states that "Broadcasting, or copying by way of photography, drawing, sketch or similar visual description, of an architectural work, a work of sculpture or work of applied art, are permitted where the aforesaid work is permanently situated in a public place." (paragraph 23)
See COM:CRT/Israel#Freedom of panorama and COM:CRT/Israel#De minimis for more information.

I would be happy to know your explanations.

thank you very much.

Djampa (talk) 05:32, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

The files in the first part of the above deletion request are paintings labeled as "own work". It looks like the signed examples are by Ilja Bereznickas. Is this User:Origati? Also, there's no indication/proof of if/where these are displayed publicly? Israeli FOP requires this information. As for the second part of the deletion request, User:Origati's authorship was questioned. Israeli FOP allows you to take photos of art, but it doesn't allow you to claim authorship of other people's images. You must be the author of the image itself. In this case, with no response from the uploader, COM:PRP had to be applied. INeverCry 15:32, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

File:Josep Maria Folch i Torres.jpg

Hi INeverCry; some days ago this image was deleted. I think that it is not a clear case of derivative work from a protected photo. The limits between inspired and derivative works are blurred, then I think that this kind of images needs a discussion previous to delete them. Anyway this kind of discussions could be useful; we are promoting the involvement of art students to contribute with images in Wikipedia (this work was one of this) through the wikiArS initiative. Discussions could be a good reference, even if ends in delete, to improve our assignments for future works. Please restore the deleted image and initiate a discussion about it. Thanks in advance. --Dvdgmz (talk) 15:24, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

I tried restoring it so I could start a deletion request, but I'm unable to do so because of the following technical error: "Error undeleting file: A non-identical file already exists at "mwstore://local-swift/local-public/9/93/Josep_Maria_Folch_i_Torres.jpg." Perhaps you should ask about this at COM:VP, COM:Help Desk or COM:AN. INeverCry 15:48, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

This was not an "(unused redirect)" :-( --Pil56 (talk) 21:38, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

This was tagged as an unused redirect by the original uploader, so I assumed he'd checked it, and deleted it pretty quickly. Sorry about that. I've placed a redirect on the page, and asked another admin, who did some earlier history merging on the file, to see what revisions need to be restored. INeverCry 21:51, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Usages replaced (at least it seems so). Please don't delete redirects after file moves, regardless of claims by the speedy tagger. There's no need for this except for recently uploaded images. --Denniss (talk) 22:09, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response. I'll make sure to be more careful about these in future. INeverCry 22:15, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Buddy

I dropped past the admin page just then, and couldn't help but notice that even your RfCU has gone a little wacky. I don't mind if you want to hold me responsible, I get that a lot. I figured staying out of it would be a welcome relief to you, I know it would be to me if I was you and you were me, but it didn't seem to help. Just what has become of things lately ? oh who knows.

I thought 'is there anything I can do to help calm the waters there' and then I look at the usual tools I use to calm the waters, and wasn't so sure they'd be applicable ;)

Never being one to give up, although I am a bit late with this offer, I probably still could draw some of the heat off you if I go and launch my own RfCU, huh, huh ? that'd work, wouldn't it. Master of misdirection is here at your service, just say the word and I'll come to your aid, without reneging on my cheerful offer not to talk anymore (in your RfCU) Penyulap 14:44, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

I've made a statement at the CU/R about my intentions if given the checkuser right. INeverCry 16:16, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

The peanut of perseverance for you, from Penyulap
that makes me feel that you're a bit stressed about everything, which I am sorry about. The sillyness there is nothing to do with you, I see some catch-points in the presentation that could have been most of the problem, but I see no reason why the discussion unrelated to you should cause a derailment in the long run. Just a bit of stress you don't need. (sigh) hmm, I don't think it was the donut I gave you, but I better not give you another. I think I'll give you a peanut of perseverance. Penyulap 16:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
I haven't touched a donut, or any other junk food, in years. I don't mind squirrels though, so this one is gladly welcomed to its new home. I actually have a couple squirrels in the bushes in my yard; a handful of neighbors' cats spend hours here every day trying to catch them. INeverCry 21:06, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
I love wild squirrels and monkeys. The monkeys have never bothered me, but it's funny to hear how they'll push some people around in many places, especially at tourist attractions where they are bolder. I recall the Chinese government saying they don't send monkeys to orbit because the monkeys are prone to mischief and will tinker with the machines. I think that is just a funny way to skip saying there is no need for testing with animals when they are following the footsteps into orbit of their Russian friends. Penyulap 02:29, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Monkeys and other primates have always seemed creepy to me. I guess I went and saw some at the San Diego Zoo as a kid, but luckily I have no memory of it. Ugh, it makes me shudder a bit to think of it. INeverCry 03:00, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
oops! There are so many things that make an impression on us so easily when we are young. Things we are told, things we do. You are lucky because it would be something you don't have to deal with everyday. I think there are people who find popular everyday situations stressful, and ones who are lucky never to come across the object of concern. Penyulap 03:08, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
I'm not so lucky: I have the same aversion for dogs too; even ankle-biters. INeverCry 03:23, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
That's not so great. Indonesians don't like dogs generally, there are many strays, and some with disease too. I am ok with dogs now, I know how to boss them perfectly, but it was not always the way. What is your favourite animal ? Penyulap 03:39, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
I like cats somewhat, atleast short-haired ones; long-haired ones are repulsive. The neighbors' cats are good enough for me since I don't have to clean up litterboxes and feed them. It doesn't really bother me that much that they shit in my yard now and then; I'd shit wherever I felt like it too if I were a cat. INeverCry 04:25, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Hahahaha ! It would be funny to be an animal and leave it in different places deliberately, to punish the wicked, like seagulls do to people who have fancy cars and big egos. You could sneak into places and leave it in their shoes. Actually, I need a hobby, I wonder if I can potty-train stray cats to do this ? sneak into people's and go potty in their shoes. I wonder if I could get help and we could call ourselves a terrorist organisation, I hear the inclusion criteria for that category are quite generous these days.
I don't mind living creatures, and they REALLY don't mind me, even chickens will push me around if I'm not firm with them. Cats come to my yard, to hunt frogs. I like the frogs because they catch flies, and I don't like flies. I should put in a chicken-wire cage as a frog sanctuary I think, give them a better chance. The frogs are wild, but like me too, they eat chicken scraps from my hands. Penyulap 04:43, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
I've got some toads living under my house and porch. We don't have many flies here, but if I could get them to eat red ants, I'd be in heaven. INeverCry 04:53, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
You can cause some trouble for ants where there are carnivorous varieties about. You scatter blood and bone and stuff over the top of the nest of the target ants, the carnivorous ones come and eat it, get the idea it is a dining room, and eat and war against the target ants. It reminds me of the insight into the minds of colony animals that was outlined in the book called "Ender's game" which is really cool. The war between workers was almost incidental, but when the humans targeted the ship with a queen, it was such a social faux pas to do that in battle, they just couldn't believe it. Everything will be ok. Don't worry about it. The opposition doesn't have anything to do with INeverCry, they are related to the process. When it's tied up as successful, the grumbling won't be directed at INeverCry, it too will be directed at the process. It was simply a minor fault in the presentation, and everything is going to be all right. Penyulap 02:53, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

File:ESCUDO SAN JUAN DE LA RAMBLA.svg

Just in case you start wondering about this file you just deleted: I have reuploaded a freely licensed version. The original uploader JonayID actually happens to be the author of his file: at this website the "Heráldica y Bandera" subpage with the image in question was created by one "Jonay". But as you saw he never licensed his file over here nor at the official website. That's why I opted for a quick copyvio deletion instead of going the "no license" or "no permission" path. I've left JonayID a note about OTRS should he decide to upload his file again. Regards, De728631 (talk) 17:03, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

File:Coat of Arms of Canada (1957-1994).svg

Why on earth have you deleted this file? Crown copyright expires after 50 years, so the original file is out of copyright and this file was a separate artistic representation anyway. It is obvious that this file is free. DrKiernan (talk) 19:21, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

The same goes for the shield on its own that you deleted. DrKiernan (talk) 19:21, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
The person who CSD tagged it stated: "Government of Canada copyright policy for Arms of Canada: "Permission is always required when the work is being revised, adapted, or translated regardless if the purpose of the reproduction is for personal or public non-commercial distribution" and is "protected under...the Copyright Act and cannot be used or reproduced without authorization". All images and derivative works of the Arms are subject to perpetual Crown copyright." Let me know if this is wrong, and I can restore the images. Also, what's the name of the other file? INeverCry 19:24, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
I suspect the tagger has been told that it is wrong, but they are continuing to nominate these files for speedy deletion anyway. I have forgotten the file name, but I think it may be File:Arms of Canada.svg, providing that that file is the shield alone, without any supporters, crest, mantling, etc. If it's the most recent full achievement from 1994, then the deletion discussion still stands. Thanks. DrKiernan (talk) 19:35, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
I've restored both images and coverted to DR. INeverCry 19:43, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
See dispute page here for detailed sources, especially at bottom of page for sourced proof that under certain cases in Canada copyright never expires. Also note the Treasury Secretariat (the organisation that governs the use of the Arms) explicitly states that all versions of the Arms are currently under copyright. Canadian copyright is valid in the U.S. under the Berne Convention and WP. Finally, no one has yet to offer any contradictory sources. Trackratte (talk) 20:11, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
Per policy, you should not be nominating these files for speedy deletion when you know the deletion rationale is disputed. You need to go via Commons:Deletion requests. DrKiernan (talk) 20:45, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
I apologise, I simply added copyvio tags, since the sources clearly state that these images are under copyright. Have you any sources behind your dispute? As so far no one has offered anything besides their own conjecture. Trackratte (talk) 20:48, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

PS: please note that User:Oleola is conducting a user edit-war against me, as can be seen on my talkpage in Wiki-Commons and on his talkpage in Wiki-English. Renewed greeting --hULIgan 21:19, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
The CSD rationale was: "Copyright holder of the photo is Georgios Kefalas, a professional photographer, see the bottom entries of the EXIF. User Huligan0 already uploaded this photo in April under false self made claim. This time he also forged EXIF metadata adding himself under Author". The original file, File:Jenny oehrli-07a.jpg, does indicate that the author is Georgios Kefalas (http://www.kefalas.ch). INeverCry 21:49, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you very much INeverCry, for your very prompt answer. Jenny wants this photo added, Georgee told me what to do to change the copywrite, perhaps I missed a step. But what must I do to get the picture online (???) or must we add a new (different) one (???) Good night and sleep well greetings from Switzerland --hULIgan 22:08, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
OTRS permission from the copyright holder is needed before the file can be restored. INeverCry 22:46, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Aditi Rao Hydari

Just want to know the reason for deletion of File:Aditi Rao Hydari.jpg, I had seen the file here day before and the tags looked correct.--PremKudvaTalk 10:13, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

It was deleted as a copyvio of https://twitter.com/aditiraohydari. INeverCry 15:08, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Help!!

¡Hello INeverCry!, I need your help. Could you correct the most current version of this photo I uploaded?. I don't know do it. Thank you very much. A greeting.--Andes (talk) 03:26, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm not much good with fixing images either. You might try Commons:Graphic Lab/Photography workshop. INeverCry 03:34, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Thank You so much!!

How did you know that User:IPhonehurricane95 made the account User:IPhone and Chairman Mao?? It's amazing, how did you found it was a sock?--Earth100 (talk) 12:00, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

The anti-Japanese vandalism to your talkpage, and the IPhone in the name we're clear indicators. I've also blocked the IP that was being used, so hopefully we won't see him again, atleast for a while. INeverCry 16:07, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
I don't know if you mind, but do you mind going to my wikipedia talk page? It's a real blunder over there.--Earth100 (talk) 00:42, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
Not much I can do over there. If you decide to post an unblock request, another completely uninvolved admin will likely review it. INeverCry 01:04, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for protecting my talkpage! When I didn't agree to IPhonehurricane's request for me to convince the admins to unblock him, I never expected my talkpage to be his next socking target. Thanks, - HurricaneSpin (Talk) 19:49, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

You're welcome. If you see any other socks of this person, please report it to me or Trijnstel. INeverCry 19:53, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Girllover png image

Hey, I saw how you closed that discussion and, while I fully support deleting the SVG given the editor's concerns, the png seems to have been deleted due to a claim by another editor that authorship and permission were not known. The problem is that I had linked to where the original permission was given soon after that claim was made. Seems the site is down, but there are still archives of it indicating the author explicitly said, when asked, that the image was for anyone to use without attribution.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 22:19, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

The votes from Turelio and Alison, along with Delicious Carbuncle's comment about the FBI source raise a question for me in regard to scope, atleast as far as the consensus in the DR goes. As for the en.wiki deleted image, the history of which I can see, it says: "This rendition was created by Apakal who released it into the public domain." Is this a rendition of a below-TOO image or a copyrighted one? COM:UDEL might be a better place for getting this restored, if that's the right outcome. INeverCry 23:08, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the rights.

Gosh that was quick, thank you. I hope to use the rights to help the project and lower the workload on other filemovers/admins. Liamdavies (talk) 16:40, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I've done my first move. It seems that using the "Move & Replace" button from the drop down menu has done everything, including renaming in other projects. Is this correct and there is nothing else for me to do? If so, what is the issue with "Commons Delinker"? Sorry, but best to be sure and not mess anything up, than cavalier and create a mess. Liamdavies (talk) 16:58, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
I haven't been dealing with filemoves for quite a while. You should ask Denniss, who knows more about this than I do. INeverCry 17:01, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
No problems, thanks yet again for the ultra prompt reply. Liamdavies (talk) 17:03, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Cheers!

I've noticed you've been the closing admin for several different deletions, speedy and regular, that I've recently nominated. One I nominated just before lunch today, and it was gone when I got back! I'm currently cleaning up categories related to Boston, and it's a huge help having a quick-acting admin about. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 18:20, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. I'm happy to help. INeverCry 19:51, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Why do you delete my accoutn?

Hello You asked my photo to be deleted because it is qualified as promotional image, I didn't mean to upload a promotional image, it is artwork, I supposed I should not have done that, it was my first post but why did you delete my user page?

are you going to delete all pictures I upload? (gemstones, no promotional item)

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lithotherapie (talk • contribs) 18:44, July 8, 2013‎ (UTC)
I deleted your userpage per COM:ADVERT. Commons isn't the place to link/promote your product or business. As for the gem images, it would be better if they were higher quality/resolution, but either way I have no intention of nominating them for deletion as they do have direct educational value. INeverCry 03:36, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello

Would you be willing to undelete my user page so I can move the data that was on it somewhere else? I tried asking the admin who deleted it but he won't answer me. I wouldn't be asking if it wasn't a ton of work. --TheShadowCrow (talk) 21:06, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

{talkpage angel} Hello TheShadowCrow, you may find www.wikialpha.org useful and accommodating. Penyulap 21:50, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip :) --TheShadowCrow (talk) 21:59, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Since it was deleted today, I would give Denniss more time to respond. As for me, I wouldn't restore this, but I wouldn't mind emailing you a copy if you connect an email to your account, atleast temporarily. INeverCry 22:12, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
I don't want the text to get rearranged in E-mail format. I hope you'll consider restoring it, because I don't think Denniss has any intention to respond to me. --TheShadowCrow (talk) 22:43, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
I can't do any more work until I get that data back. This is wasting my free time. Please help me. --TheShadowCrow (talk) 23:46, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
I'll email you a copy if you'd like, but that's all I can do. I can't just undo the action of another admin because someone asks me to. The deletion was done today, and so Denniss should be given time to respond. You could post a request at COM:UDEL as well, but that's probably not going to be very fast either. INeverCry 00:05, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Denniss is still ignoring me and it's been a day. --TheShadowCrow (talk) 14:24, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Whats wrong with the link to the content you want that Fastily already gave you: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/76520097/T.txt? INeverCry (talk) 16:02, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
I still want my edit history back. --TheShadowCrow (talk) 16:05, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
At COM:UDEL you said "I just want to take the info that was there and move it somewhere else, then I'll take it off here." Fastily has made the info available to you. If you want the page restored, you'll have to talk to Denniss, or post another request at COM:UDEL and specifically state that you want the page itself restored. INeverCry (talk) 16:10, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi

could you delete 1, 2, 3 files, I don't need them anymore ! Penyulap 19:36, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

  Done INeverCry 20:15, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you. While some people make efforts to ensure a high edit count, I prefer to ensure every edit doesn't count, and still try to figure a way to reduce my edit count to Zero if I can. Goal Zero I call it. But enough about me, you know how you said I need to retriple or requadrouple my efforts to look busy ? well I've done it ! If anyone asks if I am busy, we can just show them this picture, it proves that I'm busy. huh ? Huh ? HUH ? Eh ! it proves I'm busy, get it ? get it ? proves I'm busy ? yeah. Small things amuse small minds like mine, but today when I thought of it, I can't stop laughing, because it's true, and you can't argue with that.   Penyulap 19:53, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Logos of Palembang and Makassar

Thank you for deleting logo of Palembang. But you didn't answer, whether to upload it to Wikipedia. Is that file worth be vectorized on Wiki? Or CoAs of Indonesian cities are sufficient to be as bitmaps? Polish cities have vector CoAs on Wikipedia, so why not Indonesian cities? And what about CoA of Makassar? PS (little off-topic): Should I upload self-made flag of Samar on Wikipedia or Commons? Hosmich (talk) 21:09, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

I don't know anything about CoAs, SVGs, etc. I would suggest taking these questions to COM:VP or to the village pump or help desk at en.wiki. INeverCry (talk) 22:43, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you very much. I'm honored. Merci. Eliedion (talk) 01:38, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/File:ОЦ-14 4.jpg

The user who had uploaded that, User:Ment481, has now created a user page here, in which he says (in Russian) that he is the admin (and presumably content owner) of that site. Someone not using his real name (talk) 10:49, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

He would have to send an email to COM:OTRS from that domain name, or display a free license on the site. INeverCry (talk) 16:20, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Since you seem to speak a bit of Russian, perhaps you could explain that to him? He just uploaded a whole bunch more of images watermarked with that web site's URL. Someone not using his real name (talk) 07:37, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
although no-one has tried, I would expect that any message will need an interesting hook, as templates make you a bit deaf, and that is all he has had so far. Penyulap 07:50, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
Well, I did nominate three images of his for deletion (which is how the templates got to his talk page), but that was before he create his user page (yesterday) claiming he administers that website. Before yesterday, his account was inactive since 2011, and even back then it was only active for three days, so it didn't seem likely that I would get a response. Someone not using his real name (talk) 08:58, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
Ah, well, use the fast way. If a website has lots of copyright images like that one does, then they are probably for sale. People who sell stuff respond quickly to requests and have lots of ways to contact them on their website. Check the website for a quick way to contact the admin and ask them like that. Easy. Penyulap 18:42, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
The images can also be tagged with {{Npd}}. INeverCry (talk) 21:23, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

personal attacks

Hello. I need help. There is a confusion in the categorization. User:Orijentolog called me a nationalist ([12]). User also accused me of pushing incomprehensible ideas with other participants. I would like to insult him back, but after learning that he was permanently blocked in some wiki, I realized that my experience is not enough.--Ray Garraty (talk) 14:59, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

It wasn't any kind of "personal attack" at all, I was speaking about general problems with Azerbaijani nationalists on other projects. My comment was constructive and later reply was also very friendly. I simply can't find out how "nationalist" (or "liberal", etc.) can be insult for someone. People has right to have personal views about anything, as long as they make constructive contributions. I found yours very well speaking in general, and you should keep in mind that I'm two years here with hundreds of uploads and over 2000 contributions with clear block log. So please avoid pointless accusations. --Orijentolog (talk) 15:22, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
I suggest you do as the English articles, but you try to do as you think right. Here you have no opponents. I'm not your opponent, because I am not a Azerbaijani.--Ray Garraty (talk) 15:33, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Comment It actually looks like you're both staying pretty calm and respectful in these discussions. I certainly don't see anything I would describe as a personal attack by either of you. I would suggest you keep the reverting to a minimum though, as that can be seen as edit-warring. If you can't settle this through talking together, you might want to post at COM:VP to see if you can find other editors who are familiar with this subject, and who can give opinions. If you know off-hand of any other editors with knowledge of this subject, you can ask them directly to participate in the above discussions. INeverCry (talk) 16:51, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Why should I spend my time on requests? This user pushed his version by edits war. I think it's not right. I suggested that he give up rollbacks and called administrators but he refused [13]. As for the extended reasoning, this topic is out the scope of the project. Is convenient to discuss in more language section (en wiki for example). Commons is designed to serve other wiki projects, including Wikipedia. His actions lead to that the categorization of of topics in Wikipedia does not match the categorization in Commons.--Ray Garraty (talk) 17:27, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
If you feel that he's being disruptive, and that further discussion won't be helpful, you should bring this to COM:AN/U so that more opinions can be gotten on what needs to be done. INeverCry (talk) 18:08, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
