Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Amitie 10g!

Files you uploaded may be deleted

The files listed below, which you uploaded, have been tagged OTRS pending for more than 30 days. This tag indicates that an email setting out permission to use the file was sent to the OTRS team. Unfortunately, we cannot find any record that such an email has been received, and accordingly the file remains without permission. Unless the OTRS team receives evidence that permission has been granted within 15 days of today's date, the file will be deleted. If you have not sent the permission, please send it to "permissions-commons wikimedia.org" now. Please quote the file name in your email. If you have, please leave a message at the OTRS noticeboard, quoting the file name, so that a volunteer can follow this up. Alternatively, you can contact an OTRS volunteer directly. Please note that this message is being left by an automated bot, whose operator is not an OTRS volunteer, therefore please do not send this information to me, as it will not save your images from deletion. Thanks for your time! Please help translate this message! HersfoldOTRSBot(talk/opt out) 04:43, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by Nikbot, if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the   Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --Nikbot 17:39, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Amitie 10g/Archive!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

A file that you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons from Flickr, File:BUGATTI 2010 GALIBIER.jpg, was found available on Flickr by an administrator or reviewer under the license Noncommercial ( ), No derivative works ( ), or All Rights Reserved ( ), which isn't compatible with Wikimedia Commons, per the licensing policy. The file has been deleted. Commons:Flickr files/Appeal for license change has information about sending the Flickr user an appeal asking for the license to be changed. Only Flickr images tagged as   (CC BY),     (CC BY-SA),   (CC0) and   (PDM) are allowed on Wikimedia Commons. If the Flickr user has changed the license of the Flickr image, feel free to ask an administrator to restore the file, or start an undeletion request.

Your edit of my talk page

Excuse me, but why did you make this edit? [1] I have no interest in keeping old cruft around. -- Limulus (talk) 23:55, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Update: after a quick search I found Commons:Talk_page_guidelines which does not explicitly prohibit deleting comments on one's talk page; furthermore, what you restored were basic notifications and I have acknowledged them on the appropriate pages (not my talk page). There is no "conversation" involved. Please self-revert your edit. Thank you. -- Limulus (talk) 00:12, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

I see that rather than replying here, as part of a conversation, you posted on my talk page [2] Here is that comment:

First, you SHOULDN'T blank your Talk page, specially if you have deletion warnings. The Ownership policy indicates that the contents don't belong to the user, its belong to the community:

Traditionally Wikipedia offers wide latitude to users to manage their user space as they see fit. However, pages in user space belong to the wider community. They are not a personal homepage, and do not belong to the user. They are part of Wikipedia, and exist to make collaboration among editors easier.
Other users and bots may edit pages in your user space or leave messages for you, though by convention others will not usually edit your user page itself, other than (rarely) to address significant concerns or place project-related tags.

The User talk page blanking may be considered vandalism. This policy is valid in Wikipedia and all the Wikimedia projects.

Second, if you don't have interest in keeping old cruft, you can archive your talk page, because it is important to keep the messages, especially if they are deletion notices, and your Talk page doesn't belong to you, it belongs to the community. Amitie 10g (talk) 00:48, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

My reply: regarding Wikipedia, please see [3] "On your own user talk page, you may archive threads at your discretion. Simply deleting others' comments on your talk page is permitted, but most editors prefer archiving. Many new users believe they can hide critical comments by deleting them. This is not true: Such comments can always be retrieved from the page history. Removal of a comment is taken as proof that the user has read it." Now that you have been made aware of this, please do not rv a cleanup I'm doing of my own talk page and please do not engage in 4 -- Limulus (talk) 05:49, 8 June 2012 (UTC) See also [5] -- Limulus (talk) 08:38, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Saludos--SAVZ (talk) 19:54, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for your work! A note about deletion requests. I see you vote "Speedy delete" on many images that are out of project scope. I suggest you use "Delete" (Vd) rather than "Speedy delete" in such cases. Speedy deletion is usually for obvious copyright violations, and or for other harmful images -- not for images which are useless but free licensed. Thanks. Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 15:12, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

File:Magic Jewelry screenshot.png

File:Magic Jewelry screenshot.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

DRs

If you're gonna follow me around in my DRs, you might wanna learn about about what is reasoning for deletion and what isn't. One of my DRs you opposed was already closed as a delete, you were wrong there and you're wrong here. The files are obviously not own work, and they have no source. That makes them a potential copyvio, and that's grounds to be deleted. Fry1989 eh? 20:44, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Gottlieb logo.jpeg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Dear Amitie 10g Long Time no hear everyone moved up to tech world or onto TV doing internet things or everyday afternoon stops and visit

I'm still having problems with the classic classes instead of the outside people NICE run for the time being. Not bad at all. I did not mean harm but received a new name through moving up to New York City where I've attended a private after school state. Afterwards I received communion and things changed along with a green card into US of A citizenship through my half sisters and so on. It's been a wild ass journey for time being on top of that your favorite situations of hidden agendas and death due part pops of people of the movies, tv, internet, techworld and photo lives. I've recently acquired through sleep and meeting through dark and times where I externalized very good setting of hollow feelings like you mentioned before and I respected some of the wilde calls but its still pretty much not really the same anymore. I feel the people from the past still do not have good response or at the time of situations they are pretty much still bad being white or blacks at that reason alone. When I recently heard about you and how you guys moved on with others without a figure of real speech and things, I felt very angry to hear from you again. I thought of the situation once again about a bee stung lives instead of the matches and torn up feelings inside which seems a very conscious a lie forever and I do not feel comfortable around certain Caucasian and Afro American due to their nature of not being kept clean with the norm. They are attacking and defending but in very dramatic and Lieful ways. I hope you can understand the difference of the screen shots and how they are still only two beings on life and earth from hard to pudge temple recessions and how things like this and forth do not actually make a pretentious mistakes overall. Do you know what it means to be part of written world and such, basically you try to make the best out of it with just a beer and smoke for populous group to move on. As things do apart they all think the same as well as how pudge temple work the same too. I believe at the end of all the experiences and the two types of people I've seen, Its pretty a very relative experience to know that something in profound and not reliable to fixture the real situations and avoiding a life lies of making out experiences and such should be avoided at all cost if not possible in realms of people that wish to move on forever. I think you should do the same and pretty much define one of the match you coincide and made a difference in the world of highs and lows you pretty much did the standard of thinking and maybe you should stay away from people that do speak fluent language or aritulations in such degree of areas which are very important to other students that do care about the situations at hand. Just because we are not nurtured to be in danger in any of situations and if at best the inner spoken voices or the controls are depended by the highest honor of people whom do the truth with matters of every regard. I could die looking at their family for real sometimes. I still do not support outside people that's ugly or frugent enough to express such desire after crashing from their own existence and such from lies. I still think you did the right job by sending me the press remark but when you know the truth behind it, you might just commit a real Kurt Cobain style of death after looking at their parents pictures and such. Too ugly and too high you might loose your mind starring at them. Please do mind that cars are no longer the right pattern of choices but mathematically you should remember that only tank of building and oil drilling stations on ocean should be part as the same consequence of vice versa reverse personality versus Chinese arm tactics and white cave rolling situations and such. I do not wish to be part of such small things to victimize a control movement which I might be paid dearly for for nothing in slain works and such. Just remember that the math shows and proves where the distinguish beings are still at and the weird outcome of two factors should be avoided because of their drug addiction cases and not a far cilvilizations of watches that I preserve for the time stake and being. What can you come up with when you know you been primed time TVed, internet fascist remarks, works of hidden lies which later coincides with real outcome of same relative deals, and how we found their last truth to be far fetch of basically a pesticular growth of their remarks of their parents at the end of the ordeal. Birth defects and country sided ugly people whom I do not understand from jumping from country into city life? Are their such thing? what are the messages and what are they really saying about those human being in all do truthfulness! I think you should leave those matches alone and stop vandalizing community for the sake of irony and stop provoking something you cannot stop when you know for a fact the Chinese will decap at the end. Please revise and review my remarks of animosity and terms of real life historical movement which are far and match sakes and I think we should both as humans as you conclude and to say to avoid both outcomes of jumps and hidden attacks and such forever. I believe that's the greater change rather than those weird practices of whites doing Asian things and the end too. Thank you and I hope you can understand as well and please keep those silence and applauses to yourself and your family which you know you will sacarfice for that state of mind where only once again only certain people are meant to do. THANK YOU and please comment on the other pictures as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hyung Kun Yoon (talk • contribs)

many of those images probably deserved to be kept, as we do allow for childrens works here. however, the ones i have selected are NOT childrens works, they are the work of an adult, and they are being used at wikisource and other locations, including a WP article on a school district. my rationale for removing them is completely different this time around. may i point out the the editor who uploaded them has been permanently banned from editing WP for a complete lack of competency in understanding the project scope or methods of consensus, so i have very little good faith in his efforts here, as shown by how he has added these images that have no use at the project.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:41, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

Counter Vandalism Unit

Hi Amitie 10g/Archive,

You now have the Patroller right and may call yourself a patroller! Please take a moment to read the updated Commons:Patrol to learn how Patrolling works and how we use it to fight vandalism.

As you know already, the patrolling functionality is enabled for all edits, not just for new-page creations. This enables us to keep track of, for example, edits made by anonymous users here on Commons.

We could use your help at the Counter Vandalism Unit. For example by patrolling an Anonymous-edits checklist and checking a day-part.

If you have any questions please leave a message on the CVU talkpage or ask for help on IRC in #wikimedia-commons.

Hi Amitie 10g, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the Rename template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.
Happy moving! :) --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 01:21, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I would like to know since when add content promoting a photo contest(that bring new people and new content to commons) on the Commons main page is considered vandalism?

My update on the Main Page (in Brazilian Portuguese) was proposed and discussed here, with approval of the community(including 1 admin) and only Rodrigo Argentom was against it(but he is against everything, based on that behavior he was blocked in many of the others wikimedia projects).

I was responsible to organize the Wiki Loves Earth in Brasil, bringing near 1.000 new users and almost 7.000 pictures to commons. I updated the main page to promote the results of the contest and to promote the exhibition that I organized and was running until October 12. Unfortunately we was not able to promote the exhibition here because the content was reverted by Rodrigo Argentom many times. I recommend to you to ask and get more information before support this kind of behavior.

Rule of the shorter term

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ботаническая.JPG

Greetings Amitie 10g: Please see Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ботаническая.JPG. At the top it reads "This deletion debate is now closed. Please do not make any edits to this archive. You can read the deletion policy or ask a question at the Village pump. If the circumstances surrounding this file have changed in a notable manner, you may re-nominate this file or ask for it to be undeleted." What it doesn't say to do is to start criticizing the close at the bottom of the nomination. The image has no reason to be deleted. "At request of uploader" is not a valid deletion criteria. therefor it was kept. If you have further issues with this close, please feel free to renominate the image, but with a more valid deletion rationalization than "at request of uploader." Commons licenses are irrevocable, so "at request of uploader" is not valid reason to remove the file. Cheers. Ellin Beltz (talk) 14:53, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

To speedy delete or not to speedy delete, that is the question

Hello Amitie 10g !

Thank you for avoiding me to do some mistakes. Maybe you can help me to understand when to ask for a speedy delete and when not, since I think the difference might sometimes be very confusing.

Help with renaming

Hello Amitie 10g, Would you please be able to help me with renaming the file File:Portus sous Tiberius Claudius (Claude).jpg to Portus sous Marcus Ulpius Traianus (Trajan).jpg. I thought it faster to ask for deletion instead of renaming. (I might be incorrect but the French Wikicommons are slow, and requests can take up to a week for them to be activated). The article needs the new file because in its state it provide erroneous information to the reader. Thank you for your help with this. :-) (for the time being I have hidden the file from the article, with <!-- temporary/change pending --> but this is not ideal). — Ludopedia(Talk) 02:39, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Could you tell me why?..

Hello,

Could I ask why you deleted my request for deletion of that map?6 I provided good sources, proof and arguments that it's a wrong and misleading map. I can't really follow what you did with my request as I'm new here. Could you please write a response here about my question? Would appreciate it. Deletions

I see that you have put up about 30 files up for deletion from User:Pikiwikisrael. See User talk:Pikiwikisrael. Instead of doing individual deletions and therefore cluttering up both the user talk page and the daily deletion page can I suggest that you bundle them all together. COM:VFC is a useful tool for doing it. Alan Liefting (talk) 02:24, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

File:Republicanlogo.svg

File:Republicanlogo.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Vandalism ??????????????????????ʔ

I'm busy with recording almost 200.000 dutch words for the dutch wiktionary, sometimes a little mistake can be made (uploading an empty word in vicuna uploader resulting in in in Nl-.ogg) if this happens less then 0.01 ̥percent of the cases (less then 10 case in the 200.000) I can't hardly call that VANDALISM ̴̴̴as you did.Marcel coenders (talk)

Hi, I merged all requests into this one. I really would like that we could host the images, but I doubt we can. She was a US photographer, working for the Life magazine, so her work was first published in USA, with notice, and renewed by Life, IIRC. Regards, Yann (talk) 20:40, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

--Discasto talk 08:58, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I've uploaded a New file about "els segadors" revolt, with copyright expired for was printed in 1910, and the owner: Editorial Miralles, (after the death of Hermenegildo Miralles in 1931), disappeared during the civil war (1939), so more than 100 years have elapsed from the first case and more than 80 from the second... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcapdevila (talk • contribs) 15:25, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks to user Canaan for the info about spanish law, so it is perfect for the new file I've just uploaded by Hermenegildo Miralles the new author who died in 1931, therefore prior to December 7, 1987, than must be dealt with by the 1879 law, which sets a protection time of 80 years post mortem auctoris (art. 6 1879 law). Hermenegildo Miralles died in 1931, that makes 5 years more than the compulsory 80 years.--Mcapdevila (talk) 15:24, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
As I've been telling you, I've uploaded a New file about "els segadors" revolt (shown to the right, not related at all to Antonio Estruch ), with copyright expired for was printed in 1910, and the owner: Editorial Miralles, (after the death of Hermenegildo Miralles in 1931), disappeared during the civil war (1936), so more than 100 years have elapsed from the first case and more than "80 years" from the second.. So either you consider Miralles the autor, than the copyright has expired 1879 law, or it was one of his workers.. than its author is anonymous (as part of the staff of the disappeared editorial Miralles) therefore its copyright has expired as well because the law that applies to the European Union and those countries with a copyright term of 70 years after the work was made available to the public and the author never disclosed their identity.. any option you choose is free of copyright..--Mcapdevila (talk) 17:05, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Unity 5 logo.svg.

Thank you.

Unblock request granted

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, and one or more administrators has reviewed and granted this request.

Request reason: "First, I have no excuses for the continued harrasement and my very acid tone for several actions. I apologize for that (if I don't apologize previously), I'm tried to stay mellow but is hard in these days, and specially for how the users in general are taking serious cases where I'm tried to contribute and I tried to protect Commons against wrong actions. So, despiste the warnings and the damage caused, is possible to reduce the block? --Amitie 10g (talk) 21:24, 8 August 2016 (UTC)"

  • "and I tried to protect Commons against wrong actions" - Maybe you should stop blaming other people and look at yourself - If you believe Ellin has done something wrong you discuss it, If discussion doesn't work you go to an administrators board, If that fails you then DROPTHESTICK and move on and forget that person despite your differences, You've been here since 2010 so this shouldn't need explaining, You've harassed someone despite warning after warning to cease and desist, COM:AGF only goes so far, The only person to blame here is you and you alone, You've been blocked indefinitely not banned indefinitely so I would strongly suggest you come back next year with a fresh mind and retry an unblock and take it from there. –Davey2010Talk 23:43, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
  •   Oppose This user has been previously blocked for this twice, warned to stop by several admins and users at AN/U and at Ellin's talk (and directly above), and has continued the behavior with no change at all. This is a long-term problem, and short blocks and warnings have had no effect. INeverCry 00:01, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
I agree with that. If the unblock is declined, I preffer to take longer vacation and in some months I'll request again the unblock (but I expect the opinions from more admins, specially unenvolved ones).
And also an important approach, I expect that this block will not affect User:WebArchiveBOT at least for now (considering that the bot account will not edit, and I'll not use it to edit Commons), since there is already concensus to run the bot. --Amitie 10g (talk) 00:44, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
  • Based on what the bot does, I don't think blocking it would actually make any difference. It doesn't edit. Just don't use it to evade this block. Reventtalk 04:52, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
PS: Seeing the ANU, anyone considered how I felt with this situations since Commons:Deletion requests/File:Bethlehem Steel logo.svg? Is very frustrating for me how I seen the admins are acting for this case, and blocking users who disagree with the admin actions (but I agree that my acid behaviour is still bad). Cold mind is required to deal with the case (and this apply for everyone), so, is better to take long vacations, but I refuse to abandon the project. --Amitie 10g (talk) 01:15, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
  •   Comment In his way, I really think Amitie 10g is useful for the project. And it does not bother me when he disagree for some DRs. His behavior when he makes full trial to Ellin is not welcome, as well as his use and abuse of bold text, and I'm the first to warn him regarding his behavior with Ellin. My warning above was for the current discussion on Ellin talk page and in no way for a DR. On a personal opinion one of this last comment on a DR open by Ellin don't deserve a block. Seeing the current discussion, reason of my warning, and his past history (several blocks, and a lot of warning regarding his behavior with Ellin), I don't support a full unblock, and I even think a block may be justified for this only discussion. However I'm a bit sad of all this, because I think that disagreement can be exceeded, we must learn, all of us, to live with people that we do not appreciate. This is why I support a decrease of the block to a duration of 3 month. Christian Ferrer (talk) 05:07, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
  • I know you wouldn't like to see Ellin or anyone else leave Commons because they feel harassed. That's the purpose of my block and the reason for it: ending a long-term problem. Amitie himself admits to this harassment above in his unblock request, though he excuses his behavior after apologizing, which is a bit concerning. Stopping this continuing issue is my only interest. If a 3-month block will accomplish that, then I have no objections. But I would   Oppose any quick unblock. Amitie has already said he'd stop this behavior before, and the behavior didn't stop.

Commons should be a place where volunteers feel welcome and enjoy editing. We all have a bad moment now and then, but most of us move on and let things go, which is how it should be. I would like it stipulated that Amitie only be allowed to put in policy-based keep or delete votes containing no personal comments and critiques directed at Ellin Beltz on deletion requests filed by her in future, and that he'll avoid her talk, where he's quite obviously very unwelcome, before he's unblocked. Snarky critiques and long diatribes at her talk or on AN/U are a problem and are unnecessary. If he would agree to that, I wouldn't object to changing this block to three months, with the clear understanding that if the behavior starts up again at any point, the indef block will be put back in place. Hello.

Could you update the File:Standard time zones of the world.svg by taking the changes in Crimea, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, North Korea, Turkey and Northern Cyprus into account, by copying the latest updates from the File:Standard World Time Zones.png? I requested this because I don't know how to create and upload SVG files myself.
